Guest guest
Hi Serenity, I am fairly new myself, but I wanted to mention that you might want to read through some of the archives to see the ill effects that Miralax has had on many children. Then you may find it benificial to read through the files to find the alternatives that have helped the good folks of this loop. I tend to think that if you can find something else to help your child that anything would be better than Miralax. Best to you!! Susie ~Serenity wrote: Hi Everyone! There's also a good post from littleyellojeep today (a grandmother) that tells what she is doing. Welcome to the board! WSerenity wrote: Hi Everyone! Guest guest
Welcome to the group To: Texas-Autism-Advocacy Sent: Saturday, January 3, 2009 9:06:41 AMSubject: Newbie! I am new to this group. I have 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls. Three of my boys are confirmed ASD ( 2 are Asperger's, one is Autism). My fourth son is 16 months old, but does show some traits of ASD. My girls are very typical. I opted out of my youngest son's shots with the help of a very supportive general practioner. I have read so much about the link between shots and autism, yet so many other doctors (even the developmental pediatrician we take the boys to) laugh at the possibility of a link. Please someone give me advice! Can a 16 month old be "mimicking" his autistic siblings? Learned behavior? But one HUGE scare is that he has no response to pain. Have I opted out for nothing? I live in a very small West Texas town, there are only 2 other children here that are Autistic, so support groups are non-existent. Thanks for any advice, encouragement, etc! Guest guest
I have 4 kids , 3 of them ASD diagnosed and obviously notice. I think Autism can't be mimic, I have my daughter who is not ASD and even so she may pike up some of the things the boy's do " Do not act autistic " My youngest son I have felt the same way as you do at the beginning, but at the end every autistic child is different and the stemming and odd behaviors are always very unique and personal. They may seen alike but never the same. It is hard to tell, but that repetitive behavior and stemming never lies. With my youngest I notice it since he was 7 months old. And as I matter fact he loves my severe autistic son and try to mimics him, but can't cause he is autistic enough not to faked that well. =) Good luck and best wishes to you and your family > > Subject: Re: Newbie! > To: Texas-Autism-Advocacy > Date: Saturday, January 3, 2009, 4:14 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Welcome to the group > > > > From: > " Steelemagnolia33@ aol.com " <Steelemagnolia33@ > aol.com> > To: > Texas-Autism- Advocacy@ yahoogroups. com > Sent: > Saturday, January 3, 2009 9:06:41 AM > Subject: > [Texas-Autism- Advocacy] Newbie! > > > > > I am new to this group. Guest guest
Vaccines are a trigger, not the cause. Some develop autism without vaccinating. Autism is complex involving immune system dysregulation, gut damage, infections and more. Many triggers/poisons can contribute to this spiral. If your child is not already off of dairy/wheat GFCF I would do so immediately. Autism is not a dead end and it is treatable. However it gets more difficult to apply treatments as the child gets older and the symptoms will evolove and can be worse as the child ages, so early intervention is important. I think it wise that you decided not to vaccinate given your family history, but there is more work to do to prevent another diagnosis. I believe gfcf to be step one. More advanced diet is needed for most kids. Immune support, address infections, detox metals other toxins, clean up the gut are all steps in the right direction. My son didn't respond to pain either, but now does and now is very recovered. The body can heal. 16 months is young. Your other children can be treated as well. > > > > > Subject: Re: Newbie! > > To: Texas-Autism-Advocacy > > Date: Saturday, January 3, 2009, 4:14 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Welcome to the group > > > > > > > > From: > > " Steelemagnolia33@ aol.com " <Steelemagnolia33@ > > aol.com> > > To: > > Texas-Autism- Advocacy@ yahoogroups. com > > Sent: > > Saturday, January 3, 2009 9:06:41 AM > > Subject: > > [Texas-Autism- Advocacy] Newbie! > > > > > > > > > > I am new to this group. Guest guest
I am actually south of odessa, but we travel to lubbock to the doctor. Becca Makes sense to me that your 16 month old could be mimicking behaviors, but I’d have him evaluated just in case. Any chance you are in the Panhandle area of West TX? I’m close to Lubbock. Guest guest
A good place to start online is http://www.talkaboutcuringautism.org/index.htm (Talk About Curing Autism) and also http://www.ageofautism.com/recovery_stories/. A great book that is easy to read and gives both a good background of the problem as well as treatment options is by Dr. Bock and Cameron Stauth entitled Healing the New Child Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Asthma, and Allergies. Subject: Re: Re: Newbie! To: Texas-Autism-Advocacy Date: Sunday, January 4, 2009, 10:34 AM I don't even know what GFCF is....someone enlighten me LOL! I have never been told to try special diets, like I said in my first message, we live in a very small town with only a GP. I travel 4 hours every other month to take the boys to a developmental pediatrician, but she has never recommended a diet for them. If someone could send me links to this information, or anything!! I would appreciate it. Thanks so much for all the warm welcomes I have received and the advice you guys have sent. It's just kinda like reading a foreign language at first, hopefully I will catch on soon! In a message dated 1/3/2009 8:51:21 P.M. Guest guest
Don't feel bad I live near Houston the 4th largest city in the US and when I asked early intervention or medical people about diet they literally " rolled their eyes. " Believe me nobody in this area told me to do diet either. My son's asthma, seizures, and most of autism symptoms are gone. Largely due to advanced diet. The world has a lot of growth and change to do. I think autism is here to wake us up. The mainstream believes are kids have no cure and life long disability. I decided to believe differently. In our home we are getting different results. It's a slow process. Our kids have layers of toxic insult and it takes time to unravel each part. Our kids are socially/play impaired because they have inflammation. They aren't picking up the wonderful environments we provide. Diet key to resolving inflammation. TIME though and most need much more than GFCF. This is however a good first step. Hbot (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) is another good tool for inflammation. You won't get too far however if you are still eating foods that contribute to the inflammation.
