Guest guest
hi paul - i had a muscle bx done at uc davis several years ago - the neurologist was working me up for an exercise induced mitochondrial myopathy - had been heavy into biking. the muscle bx was really a piece of cake - i insisted on a local which turned out fine. the neuropathologist at davis said there wasn't much wrong but i begged him and he sent it on to the expert lady in buffalo...anyway, the results showed some aberration in complexes II - III in the respiratory chain; certainly not enough to explain my symptoms. this is consistent with cheney's (and probably others') view that the mitochondria are affected in cfs....the 'mito' cocktail - el carnitine, etc - didn't help....i now have a babs/lyme dx and antibiotics seem to be helping... good luck, (like so many others, am really hoping that you start to do well and can eventually share with us what's going on) deb
