Re: Flagyl pulses for Cpn

I have been on Ketek and Tini now for about 50 days straight for Lyme.

My LLMD doesn't pulse the Tini, just prescribes it with another

antibiotic continually. My worst patch was after 2-3 weeks. I am okay

now except still have sore joints, especially shoulders. I think I am

on an upward path that started when I first began antibiotic treatment

a year ago. Back then I was in agonizing pain.

Is there some reason why Tini or Flagyl should be pulsed rather than

taken continuously? Obviously some people don't tolerate it well or may

have too high a load to take it continuously, but is there another

reason?

Thank-you so much, Jim. That's just what I needed to hear.

Did you try charcoal as well? I have a good charcoal product

(Enteraklenz - tastes subtly like chocolate) but it's difficult to

take when I'm taking meds every 2 hours throughout the day!

Do you know specifically why C is used? What about a magnesium

flush? That'd work too, if it's just a matter of cleaning you out. :-

) I still like the charcoal, if it can be fit it in.

I've been wondering about this. If we've got all these toxins

floating around from the high bacterial counts, and they're not

really getting processed out through the liver (ala Shoemaker) but

just keep recirculating through the blood making us sicker and

sicker, we really need to find a way to clean them out if we want to

feel better. It's not so much a matter of detoxing the liver, is it,

as detoxing the blood? This is why Cholestyramine or Charcoal (or

perhaps C, if it binds to toxins) makes sense. This is what I like

about STratton. He's trying to cover all the bases as safely as

possible.

And yet I wonder too, why is it that when I'm on the right abx, I

feel so much better? Do you? Not toxic at all (when I'm not on abx,

I have lots of toxic symptoms. Can't think straight, etc.). I know

I'm killing bugs with the right abx in the right amount, but I don't

seem to suffer from the toxin release that comes with die-off. Where

are these toxins going? Is my body mopping them up more efficiently

somehow? I wish I understood the whole mechanism better.

Also, which abx have you done or are you on and what's been

successful for you?

p.s. Along with my recent improvements, I've noticed my vision is

much improved. I'm now sometimes using only the 1.00 (lowest)

magnification reading glasses for very fine print. The 1.75 and

2.00s I was using before are way too strong. Interesting.

I've been taking charcoal at night. I assume it interferes with meds if

taken within 2 hours of them or so. Anybody know any different?

That's true. Have to take it at LEAST 2 hours away from other

substances (don't know if there are individual variations on that

depending on digestive speed, etc.?)
