hi paul - and as expected it's the igm that's starting to show up....i assume when i first got the infection 20+ years ago, igm also showed up and then disappeared - but why didn't igg turn pos then (that stays around, right?)....byron hyde thinks lots of gradual onset cfsers were probably fighting our occult infections (whatever kind) ok and then we got the hep b vaccine (no choice there for many of us in the health field)and that screwed up our immunes systems - sure fits with me......maybe if all the igg had converted to igm the immune system wouldn't get screwed up???? a question of timing?? i have no idea..

Deb:

You probably did have a good IgM response when you first got

infected with Lyme - but it wasn't caught. But IgMs can't kill Lyme-

they're a smaller antibody than IgG, and they only live about 3

months or less. If Lyme hides before the cells can gear up to make

IgGs, then well- they don't get made.

So then, when Lyme goes out into the blood to trvael from point A

to pont B - the body spikes another round of IgMs... but Lyme

probably reaches it's sequestered destination before the body can

make IgG.. so you never make them.

The theory behind damaging or killing them with abx is to drive

either the bacteria or their DNA out of hiding and into the blood.

Keep it there long enough, and the body WILL make IgGs - and they are

long lived.

In 2002 - I tested positive for Lyme by PCR,

but my IgM was negative, only showed positive on (+) band 41 and I

had ZERO activity on the IgG nothing at all.

In 2003 - I didn't have PCR done.

I was negative IgM on the western blot with only 2 positive bands 41

and 66 and no other bands were even +/-.

My IgG showed positive (+) on bands 34 and 41,

Indeterminate bands (+/-) were 31, 45 & 58.

In 2004- I didn't have PCR done.

My IgM was considered positive with positive(+ or ++) bands 18, 39,

41, 66 & 93 and the indeterminate bands (+/-) on 23, 30, 31, 34, 45 &

58.

the IgG was considered negative, but it was starting to turn on.. I

was +/- on bands 18,23,31,34,39,41,45,58,and 66.

I like Igenex, because they give you the indeterminate (+/-) bands.

I look at this as raw data - and in my case it shows that my immune

system is turning on against Lyme- albeit the IgG is not as robust as

I'd like to see it.

So, at this point, I really don't even care whether the blots are

considered " Positive or Negative " .. I look at the activity of the

immune system, how I'm feeling, and hope that the IgGs continue to be

active (becuase they're the killers).

I get tested again in a few months - and I think this year I'll

include PCR with the blots.

That is a very good point, my friends at newcastle uni also mention

the hep B vaccine which I had as well as being a precursor to this

ilness.I feel that autism is also kids battling inflammation being

vaccinated when the immune system is completely not ready.........

Dear Tony

This very point is the lynchpin of Goldberg's treatment.

I know a guy whose wife is an eminent autism researcher and she also

believes there's a very strong possibility that immunizations are the

source of the problem.

Forgot to say that she's convinced enough to not allow her children to

get most vaccinations, and definitely wouldn't allow them to get more

than one at a time. Hepatitis is a problem here because so many people

surf. I know the father does. If I recall they did a lot of research

before deciding to give their son the Hep. vaccine, but they also

waited until he was older.
