Guest guest
Speaking of herpes. I have also had success combining DMSO with some of the various anit-viral herbs and applying it directly to the topical lesions. Such DMSO tinctures, I have made for herpes would include: licorice, lapcho, garlic, lomatium, st. john's wort, cinchona bark---just off the top of my head. I have a few more herbs I like in that category too. doug Re: pennsaid Margaret: Thought I would share a couple of things I have been "messing" with lately. I read an article by a fellow that felt joint pains might be in the same category with herpes and suggested trying 2000 mg. of L-Lysine daily. I have been taking it and I can definately tell when I forget to take it. My sister had very painful thumbs and was actually getting kind of lumps or knobs on her thumbs. I told her to quit taking calcium and take magnesium and potassium instead. Her pain has subsided as well as the lumps. Apparently if you take calcium and not enough magnesium your body doesn't know what to do with the calcium and will just "stick" it places. Give it some thought. As they say, "it couldn't hoit!" Guest guest
I have used Lomatium topically and orally with great results. But lately I use DMSO and Colloidal Silver and get IMMEDIATE results. If it do it when the throbbing / itching firsts starts it never even pops a blister. I have not tried DMSO and Lomatium. But then since I have been drinking CS every day I have not had any fever blisters to try it on. Glad to know of the other anti-viral herbs Doug. Are any of them more effective than others for topical? Or for oral use in flus or other common viral infections? Thanks, Garnet > Speaking of herpes. Guest guest
Garnet, I have had NO experience with Colloidal silver, but thanks to your list, I bought a generator earlier in the summer on eBay and plan to experiment with it. Actually, I am sort of like you, since I have been on a vitamin C regime (3000mg/day) plus other anti-oxidants since the mid-1990s,,,,,,,,,,I hardly ever get sick. No colds or flu. Sooooooooo, I don't usually take the anti-viral herbs for colds or the flu and cannot tell you if one is better than another. I was infected with a topical form of herpes in the late 1990s and after the initial infection, I have not been bothered by the typical topical weeping lesions. I am not sure if it is because I have a great immune system or my form of herpes infection is unique. My herpes infection seemed to manifest itself as small white " sore " spots on gums or inside of mouth once or twice a year,,,,,,,,never on the outer epidermis. I have had a western blot test and I am infected, so I am sure on that account. blessed be the immune system, doug Re: herpes > I have used Lomatium topically and orally with great results.
