Guest guest
Hi, I'm a 26 year old graduate student, and I've suffered from sound sensitivity from about the age of six, particularly around eating noises. When I found your website, I was shocked to see that about 70 percent of sufferers are women. Has there been any further research to explore why this is so? Also, I was wondering about the global spread of SS. Is this primarily a U.S. phenomenon - or is it found throughout the world? Thank you, __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hello, . I am from Britain so Sound Sensitivity is definitely not just a U.S. phenomenon. I have also come across a Canadian site, primarily for Hyperacusis, but which also has some contributors with SSSS. However, the UK, US and Canada probably have similar cultures and of course share the same main language, so I wonder how much of it is cultural? - JudithS > > Hi, > > I'm a 26 year old graduate student, and I've suffered > from sound sensitivity from about the age of six, > particularly around eating noises.
