Hi all,

I had exactly the same adverse reaction with cimicifuga in two patients

of mine, therefore dispense it with considerable caution now! I would

reduce cimicifuga to a tiny level and then build back up - maybe its one

of those things that the therapeutic and toxic doses are close, so you

have to increase slowly until you get a return of the sx, then reduce

back to previous level. (Making sure patient is symptom free first, of

course!)

Thanks Jane,

actually px had stopped the cimicifuga drops, but the brief time they

were taken (about a week) seems to have cleared the flushes (touch

wood!) which were quite severe, (despite salvia, diuretics,

alchemilla, shatavari, verbena , hypericum etc.)

I think I might employ this as a treatment strategy more often. (Good

for protecting the plants too!)

I often don't use Cimic not wanting to stimulate/increase menstrual

flow, but if it will work in such a short time to nudge the hormonal

balance, ........
