Guest guest
Hi All I received an e-mail from Patti Mills yesterday regarding my interest in having in the research. She was very nice about it but told me they did not need samples from because she most likely does not share the genetic changes present in other children with PMG that they will be studying. has some features that are atypical of other PMG kids, meaning her advanced growth and the size and shape of her head and the fact that she is seizure free and other things. Patti stated that " Regarding our future efforts to learn more about PMG, our first step will be to look for genes and gene changes that are likely to be responsible for the typical presentations of PMG. As we gain a better understanding of these genes, we are likely to develop hypotheses about variations in these genes or in related genes that might explain more varied clinical presentations, such as 's. For this reason, we don't have an immediate need for samples from . " ( - born 7/14/98 w/PMG) Northern California
