FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Colleague,

We have great pleasure to inform you that MGIMS, Sevagram is hosting the XXIX

Annual conference of Indian

Association of Preventive & Social Medicine at Sevagram from 15 th to 17 th

February 2002. We extend you a

cordial invitation on this occasion.

The theme of the conference is " Globalization: Emerging Health Challenges " .

Beside this there will be sub-themes

also. Your active participation and contribution during the conference will make

it a real academic feast.

The delegation fee for the conference will be as follows:

For life members Rs. 600/- Rs. 700/- Rs. 800/-

For non-members Rs. 800/- Rs. 900/- Rs. 1000/-

Retired life members Rs. 400/- Rs. 500/- Rs. 600/-

Spouse Rs 300/- Rs. 400/. Rs. 500/-

Abstracts of papers for presentation as per the guidelines of Indian Journal of

Community Medicine should be

submitted in duplicate and should reach the conference secretariat latest by

30.11.2001. Please also specify whether

you want oral/poster presentation.

There will be a separate session on the last day of conference for young

scientist (less than 40 years of age)

awards viz. Sh. Pyare Lal Sharma Memorial award, for young female scientist

presenting community based re-search.

The papers presented will be judged by a panel of two judges. Papers for these

awards should be submit-ted

well in advance to the Secretary General, IAPSM with a copy to the Organizing

Secretary of the conference.

Beside this Dr. Vijay Narain award will be given for the best paper read in the

conference. A session will also be

organized for Epidemiological Research Grant's Project Proposals. The criteria

for the same will be published in

the last four issue of IJCM prior to the conference will also be announced by

the Secretary General in the Confer-ence.

Kindly give this announcement a wide publicity amongst your department

colleagues to ensure maximum partici-pation.

You will receive the final announcement and brochure of the conference,

containing detailed information in

July 2001.
