Guest guest
Carol, I am so happy for you! Sorry about the kids being sick, but glad you got to get away! Where did you go? I hope you had some fun. Shari For this first time in 27 years of marriage my dh and I left our children home, boarded an airplane and went off together... alone. It was a business trip and he had to work, but it was still fun and we were still out on our own for the first time. Our oldest, , came with her three and stayed here with our youngest three. Course first day away, she wakes up to passing out while throwing up! I was panic stricken for a bit, but she only threw up once and managed to weather that very well. Course the other two got sick, and last night the first of the grandchildren threw up... but that is life with kids. ;-) Anyway- just a few short years ago I would never have even considered leaving with all her medical quirks and issues, so this was a very big deal and quite the milestone for all of us. Guest guest
We did have lots of fun! I didn't see dh all day, which is a mixed blessing ;-)I spent the first two days doing NOTHING.... went from the beach to the pool, to a nap. Had TWO beers at lunch one one day!!!! Totally decadent ;-) Every night we had a dinner to attend and the purpose of these dinners was to impress so needless to say I don't need to eat for the next MONTH!Also went out to visit Brookgreen Gardens, and that was so beautiful. People in Myrtle Beach seem to put up with Alligators in their day to life with out much fuss. Didn't seem to odd to find them in very unlikely places- like ponds at malls, in the water way near a gift shop sunning himself- large ones too. Lots at the botanical garden. The little ones stay in the garden til they get larger then they move out into the canal and the river once larger. This was the view from our hotel room at sunset- we kept the patio doors open all the time for the sea breeze and the SOUND. Heaven.... I can not tell you how jealous I am of anyone who lives in a warm climate with access to the beach! The grandchldren are all coming back tonight and we are keeping them for the weekend so and Marky can go off for their 5th anniversary and Mark's b-day. :-) So payback is coming! Since Micah got sick last night, his twin is sure to follow and then . :-) Carol in ILMom to , 8 DS My problem is not how I look.
