Guest guest
Evening I have never had any problems taking DMSO orally or topically and question that the DMSO would cause this kind of reaction. How long have you been using it orally? How much, 1 tsp or 1tbs? I need to buy a book on DMSO. Did Dr. take a tbs every day for 32 years? I'm new here too (hello everybody!), and have very limited experience with DMSO. However, I know a lot about toxic chemicals. You were right to mention the other stuff that you were in contact with -- because it's probable that the DMSO, acting as the splendid carrier it is, brought something else into your system and that other substance is what actually caused your reactions. By " Bute, " do you mean PHENYLBUTAZONE ? Here's some information on its toxicity from Environmental Defense. http://www.scorecard.org/chemical-profiles/summary.tcl?edf_substance_id=50%2d33%\ 2d9 Phenylbutazone is a suspected cardiovascular or blood toxicant. What caught my eye was this: " Cardiovascular and blood toxicity is defined as adverse effects on the cardiovascular or hematopoietic systems that result from exposure to chemical substances....Because the cardiovascular system is complex, adverse effects resulting from exposure to chemicals can arise through a variety of mechanisms. Toxicants can contribute to cardiovascular disease by directly damaging cardiac and blood vessel tissue, initiating arteriosclerotic plaque formation, stimulating the INFLAMMATORY RESPONSE... " [emphasis added] Phenylbutazone is also a suspected carcinogen, gastrointestinal or liver toxicant, kidney toxicant, neurotoxicant, and respiratory toxicant. The neurotoxicity and respiratory toxicity could have accounted for your breathing problems and numbness. Be aware that Environmental Defense is a little on the *conservative* side regarding its mention of whether or not something is dangerous. So when it says " suspected " toxicant, the chemical is pretty much guaranteed to BE a toxicant. Finally, a comment on the shampoo, conditioner, soap and deodorant: unless such personal care items are homemade from very simple ingredients -- or bought from a company like Weleda or Aubrey Organics -- all that stuff is highly toxic, between the dyes and the heavy metals and the detergents, which can cause nerve damage among other things. I would think that the DMSO would have to be used at the same time as these chemicals in order to get the kind of reaction you reported -- so my bet is with the Bute. However, I wouldn't use those personal care products anyhow. If you have access to a sauna, sweating out the chemicals would be a good idea. Guest guest
Thank you Nenah for all of your great info! That is really scarey about the Bute! I have been sweating like crazy all week at work so I think I am getting a lot of toxins out of my body! It has been 80++ and extremely humid and I work at a boarding stable in addition to having my own horses at home. Feeding, cleaning around 15-20 stalls a day calls for a lot of sweating in a sauna type of weather/climate at the moment. Thanks again, Anndrea

One more thing: make sure that your diet consists of enough protein and not so many carbs. The liver needs a high-protein-to-low-carb ratio in order to break down the poisonous substances in the body so that you can then sweat or piss them out.
