Guest guest
Hi Regression is extremely rare, and I don't think at that age the skull could regress anymore. What I have noticed though with my daughter is that as she grows her looks change. Some wks I think wow she looks great, and then other wks I think she looks worse plagio wise. I do think that when the plagio isn't 100% corrected you do tend to see it when you know what you are looking for. Facial asymetry I heard corrects over a long period of time, so I think you might still see some improvement on that issue. There is a group for older plagio kids. You should be able to find the addy in our link section. Guest guest
Hi , After about age 2 the skull does not change shape without surgery, rather it just layers on hard bone over what is already there (thus retaining the same shape). Regression is possible, but very unlikely even with a baby. My daughter did regress between 11 and 15 mos old after graduating from a helmet, and even at that age I was extremely suprised given her age. They say that only 1% of babies do regress. Did you just cut your son's hair shorter or differently, so that maybe that's giving you a different view of his head? Many babies graduate with remaining asymmetry, and my guess would be thats what you're seeing. I really wouldn't think regression is at all possible at your son's age. If you're really concerned though, definitely ask your doctor. , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma http://hannahsnoggin.typepad.com --- In Plagiocephaly , " crisarndt " <crisarndt@s...> wrote: > > Hello...I'm new here and was hoping someone might have some > information for me. Guest guest
Damn. No viruses going around? In the past, when I've been well, sometimes picking up a virus will yield those familiar symptoms, but they will recede with the resolution of the illness. Anyway, that's what I'm hoping for you. Keep us posted. > Woke up this morning with some familiar symptoms- unfortunately > familiar to my past (which is presumbed to be Lyme). > > Bunsen burner on low flame in the left shoulder quandrant, slight > stiff neck on the right side, and right sided head ache (occipital > lobe - confluence of the sinuses). > > sO............ Guest guest
Sheeeeeyit, I hope it turns out to be a virus. A weak virus, not the Chinese avian flu.
Guest guest
I echo that, I hope it's a bug! I know there's a nasty one circulating in Cali, has knocked out a bunch of my friends here and my brother's in Chico. The one's who take abx don't get better any faster, I suspect it must be viral. If it is your old nemeses, we will all be behind you as you give them another good ass-whoopin'. > > Woke up this morning with some familiar symptoms- unfortunately > > familiar to my past (which is presumbed to be Lyme). > > > > Bunsen burner on low flame in the left shoulder quandrant, slight > > stiff neck on the right side, and right sided head ache (occipital > > lobe - confluence of the sinuses). > > > > sO............ Guest guest
Me too, Barb. I woke up today with my whole left side and part of my right a mess. I have just had the Igenex test and will get my results Weds., however I was only clear of antibiotics for a week before the test, and taking them on-off for over a year so my test could very well come out negative, regardless. I'll let you know Weds. *S* PS I have heard that Bb has a 30 day cycle - have you noticed a monthly cycle to your pain and discomfot? I sure have. A year ago, at the full moon (like this weekend's full moon) I would not only be hurting, but also menstruating to add to the grief. There are a few things getting older does aleviate, it seems. ;-) Cheers, *S* > Woke up this morning with some familiar symptoms- unfortunately > familiar to my past (which is presumbed to be Lyme). > > Bunsen burner on low flame in the left shoulder quandrant, slight > stiff neck on the right side, and right sided head ache (occipital > lobe - confluence of the sinuses). > > sO............ Guest guest
Thanks everyone. Since I DID wake up thismorning, I don't think it's the Avian Flu ;-). There are alot of people around me right now with very bad colds, which include headache (but no body aches) that are hanging on for several days. SO am I hoping this is a virus as I did have a scratchy throat for a few days prior.. but this morning all symptoms are gone Hmmmm that's suspicious. The right lobe headache (for me anyway) and neck stiffness I have not had at all in over 1.5 years (and that was a constant symptom prior to that - so I know how it feels, and it's pretty specific). Guest guest
Sue: Well before I knew I had Lyme- I knew the the symptoms waxed and wanned in a cyclic manner: monthly, yearly and every 4 or 5 years (the ones every 4 or 5 years were really the worst- usually ending with yet another mis dx of some major malady). Let us know how those tests come out. Guest guest
Barb, don't forget the Tagament (citametadine)! If it's a virus, it could be worth trying. And remember, no bad side effects, but pretty amazing if it knocks out the virus, especially if it IS West Nile or SARS or something. :-) penny > > Sheeeeeyit, I hope it turns out to be a virus. Guest guest
POSITIVE Igenex IgM Western Blot. Not all the results were back yet but the IgM which I guess, is the one that counts. Babesia co-infection was negative. I will get the remaining results and draw more blood to test for other co- infections, next week. I am in shock and pretty pissed about 30 years of misery and suffering and life lost at the moment. *S* > > > Woke up this morning with some familiar symptoms- unfortunately > > > familiar to my past (which is presumbed to be Lyme). > > > > > > Bunsen burner on low flame in the left shoulder quandrant, slight > > > stiff neck on the right side, and right sided head ache > (occipital > > > lobe - confluence of the sinuses). > > > > > > sO............ Guest guest
Yah, I had a good cry over that myself. Luckily only the better part of a decade was a major loss for me. If you can call that luck. I can't think what to do with bitter feelings except try to increase awareness and help other people so that it doesn't keep happening to so many. - Kate On Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at 09:14 PM, Sue wrote: > I am in shock and pretty pissed about 30 > years of misery and suffering and life lost at the moment. Guest guest
Well yes. I know exactly how you feel. I found out I had Lyme a short time after a conversation with my Opthamologist ( who treated my eye inflammation for almost 10 years) which went something like this: " You know, there is only 2 things that can leave this signature in someones eyes: Late stage untreated syphilis or late stage unreated Lyme.... and I just don't see how it could be Lyme " .... I was P'O'd at that attitude.. and even more Po'd when I found that over the last 20 years I had been tested for syphilis unbeknownst to me.. AND tested negative on the highy specific VDLR test and they STILL wanted to beleive it was THAT before even testing for Lyme... (And of course I was already dx's with complex autopimmune disease, over the previous 20 years).. Oh yah.... I know exactly how you feel. Barb PS.. which bands were positive on the IgM? Did you also have a PCR test? I doubt you'll be positive on the IgG.. most late stage Lymies I know only spike IgM till you kill off some of those buggers and the bidy can recognize them & has time to make IgG Well.. Now you have a target. > > > > Woke up this morning with some familiar symptoms- unfortunately > > > > familiar to my past (which is presumbed to be Lyme). > > > > > > > > Bunsen burner on low flame in the left shoulder quandrant, > slight > > > > stiff neck on the right side, and right sided head ache > > (occipital > > > > lobe - confluence of the sinuses). > > > > > > > > sO............ Guest guest
Me three, per my story posted here already. My whole life contorted pretzel like in varoius ways by bugs in a tick. Not mad at the tick or the bugs, but the sociopathic scientists and idiotic doctors yes...and then to find out I have babesia the last 5 years...and was refused testng by 2 docs for it when I got it... I'm glad I'm a writer. Revenge, in my own time. Yes, revenge will be sweet. But not yet. > > > > > Woke up this morning with some familiar symptoms- > unfortunately > > > > > familiar to my past (which is presumbed to be Lyme). > > > > > > > > > > Bunsen burner on low flame in the left shoulder quandrant, > > slight > > > > > stiff neck on the right side, and right sided head ache > > > (occipital > > > > > lobe - confluence of the sinuses). > > > > > > > > > > sO............ Guest guest
That emotion is really not worth the effort.. Guest guest
I can in print, I certainly can. I've had a lot of experience with the power that print has. I never understand people who warn and scold me that I should not be angry, that its " bad " for me. If I stew in helpless anger for years, sure. But sometimes anger can be galvanizing. It is not a useless emotion. It can be invigorating. It can take you OUT of victim status. It can move you to fight back. I'll take my anger, and later, my sweet revenge. > > > > > > > Woke up this morning with some familiar symptoms- > > > unfortunately > > > > > > > familiar to my past (which is presumbed to be Lyme). > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Bunsen burner on low flame in the left shoulder > quandrant, > > > > slight > > > > > > > stiff neck on the right side, and right sided head ache > > > > > (occipital > > > > > > > lobe - confluence of the sinuses). > > > > > > > > > > > > > > sO............ Guest guest
I'm not saying you're " bad " .. I'm saying (in my opinion of course) revenge is a wasted effort with our type of problems. It set you back farther, because you can't really hurt people who don't give a sh*t about you in the first place... or people (like some of the Drs ) who think they've done everything humanly possible to help you, and decide that you're in denial, or whack-o - or wanting attention- or what ever they erroneously tag you with. ..... course- I learned all this the hard way - by doing exactly what I'm telling you not to do now. But what the heck - if it makes you feel better - do it. Guest guest
Hi Dorene, You are under a lot of stress with your husband. You have to take care of yourself. If your husband said he wants somebody who doesn't have health problems but is still living with you that isn't fair of him. He should leave in that case and let you get on with looking after yourself. It's none of my business but it sounds like he is too cowardly to deal with you being ill and too cowardly to leave. The only thing you can do is be true to your- self. You need peace and I don't think that's possible with someone who can't decide whether or not to stay but who is still there. Maybe he needs to move out to figure himself out and in the meantime you can get some peace. He needs to figure it out on his own you can't do anything about it. I hope this isn't too upsetting for you to read. I sympathize with you. Even if you have decreased mobility you still have the power to change all kinds of things in your life. Don't be afraid, take care. low dose naltrexone From: ddunbar34@...Date: Wed, 4 Jun 2008 03:18:53 +0000Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Relapse? I have been on LDN since Nov 2006 after 7 years on Avonex. I started with 3 mg then increased to 3.5 about 9 months ago. I have been under an extreme amount of stress for the past 4 months and 2 weeks ago some of my symptoms have gotten much worse. I can barely walk and holding a pen is difficult. I have SPMS and did start the high vitamins mentioned for those who are on LDN and think they are having a relapse. I am getting a little scared. In February, my husband wrote a letter to me telling me he couldn't deal with the MS and wanted to be with someone who was physically fit. He's still with me and working on his feelings, but it's always in my mind and now with this, I'm remaining hopeful. My question is ... is there anything else I can do to help my condition? If I go to my doctor, she will want to do steroids and insist I start another treatment. Advice? Input?Dorene Postez plus de 500 photos par mois et partagez-les avec votre famille et vos amis!
