Guest guest
I have never used Labs so cannot comment. I feel genomic science is very young and incomplete, since many neurotypical persons have some of the abnormal findings of the ASD kids. I personally do not order these tests, as almost all the children I treat improve, and it would be rare that I would find anything on genomic testing that would direct or change my treatment. For selenium, I like VRP's liquid selenium, 50mcg per drop. Tremors suggest hyper-sympathetic issues; you might try GABA (NF Formulas), up to 1000mg a day, theanine 100-200 twice daily, VRP, Thorne, taurine up to 2000mg a day, and a few kids show a response to 5HTP, 50-250mg/day. Dr. JM a few questions, Dr. M, everyone? > > > I have a few of questions for the many knowledgable people on the > list. > > Is Labs a good source of supplements? > > Have any of you done the MHTFr test, and who does it? Guest guest
Dr. M., Thanks a lot! As always you are tremendously helpful and generous to answer. So I will keep on trying the folinic & MB12 combo . I have a feeling a little folinic is enough . As my son improves the high doses of the B vitamins ,DMG/TMG , MSM, CoQ10, etc push him into an irritable state. By the way ,he appears to be doing well on Lipo GSH , nodding his head and gesturing better. He is 13 and very verbal but can't nod very well. He is also a bit grouchy on this too. mom to --- Jaquelyn McCandless wrote: --------------------------------- I have never used Labs so cannot comment. Guest guest
I am new to the list, I'm Peggy. I have Asperger's, I'm in my mid 50's. And I'm regressing. I discovered my ASD when my son, who is also Asperger's was experiencing school difficulties. (about 1999) In the last few years, my hearing sensitivities have dramatically increased, I have reflux problems for the first times, IBS dx in 2000, and other troubling symptoms, that were much much less of a problem, in my younger years. Anyway, in the past few months, I have noticed the soles of my feet turn BLACK. This usually happens when I take a warm bath, and then goes away. What could this possibly be? I am also getting very sensitive to warm weather, and fatigue easily when I'm out in it. Thanks for any thoughts. I'm interested in the topic of chelation, but don't know much about it. Are there any papers I could read on the topic. Peggy
Guest guest
Hi Peggy and welcome. This is a friendly and supportive list and I know you will find help here. I surmise from your being on this list that you have Dr. McCandless' book. It will be your best guide to have a good understanding of things including chelation and will have most everything in the updated 2nd edition except the new TD-DMPS protocol for chelation. Along with chelation there is so much to be gained through testing and proper supplementation also. My son is recovered and we did not chelate but rather his body began to detox itself naturally after he was metabolically balanced. We may in the future need to do more but for now the biomedical/DAN! approach that Dr. McCandless does has done the trick. FYI, there is also a list on yahoo called chelatingkids2. On that list (and maybe here too. can't remember) you can find lots in the files section. Most of the talk right now is about chelating with the new TD-DMPS but there are tons of things in archives of both lists on other methods. Many have also had luck with using TTFD to help the body to naturally detox. So many of these interventions work together and it is hard to separate them. I imagine you have explored diet but if not you might want to read Seroussi's book. It can be bought at bargain prices at National Autism Association's website.. www.nationalautism.org.You can also find a lot of info at the ARI website... www.autism.com. There are many new things being uncovered now that offer much hope to us all. I wish you the best and know others will have more info for you. It's really late and I can't think beyond this but just wanted to say welcome. Blessings, in AL Mom to Slater > I am new to the list, I'm Peggy. I have Asperger's, I'm in my mid 50's. Guest guest
Hi again... I did not mention the enzymes (they are discussed also in the books) but we are also using those but it is not a substitute for the diet.. .just a support to it for us. We use Kirkman's Enzyme Complete and do very well on it. Good luck again! > > I am new to the list, I'm Peggy. I have Asperger's, I'm in my mid > 50's.
