Guest guest
I suppose a lot of kids with autism are not extraordinarily happy, my oldest certainly isn't and youngest spent all his early years "suffering" so for me "suffer" is the right word. I also think when it comes to acceptance, ie other kids playing with our kids then it is our kids that need the tools to do that as much as anyone else being autism aware. I'm not interested in respite either, would love to see this money spent on therapies for our children to give them the skills they need. It's always respite though isn't it? Even the latest carers strategy came down to offering a few bits and pieces of respite rather than an increase in CA. I think respite is the cheapest option which makes it look like something is being done. Vicky
