Guest guest
Hi Dana, I posted this on Tues. and for some reason it didn't go through- am copy/pasting it in a new email here... Calendula cream was suggested to us in the hospital and also comes in the ISOP cast decorating kit. I think Dr. Mehta recommends it herself for this use. I just happened to have a brand I already used as a hand lotion for myself at night, as well as on my baby's skin. It says it's for both "mother and baby care" and I came to love the scent of it. The one I like is by Weleda Baby, and it's "Calendua Baby Cream", just to be more specific. (Not the lotion, which is great but thinner, and not the diaper rash cream for this purpose. If your baby has diaper rash, that's obviously different than skin irritation from the cast rubbing, etc...) I buy it at Whole Foods, but it's widely available online by Googling. One site I think is www.weledababy.com It does work for us, for the redness by our baby's hips. All best, Heidi (Mother of Bexon, 20 months old in first cast) Subject: Re: casting tomorrow/red spots on skinTo: nickguthe@...Date: Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 2:30 PM Hi - Where can I purchase the Calendula Baby Cream and who makes it? Thanks for letting others know about this cream. Dana
