Guest guest
I recall you were studying these, in ancient days of I & I-one. I am interested in them because they reportedly cannot be effluxed well by bacteria, due to being very hydrophilic. What did you learn/conclude about them? Did you ever find a MIC for any of them against Bb?
Guest guest
, I looked into them and decided they could be of use to me (not necessarily bec of Bb, I have other infections, not sure which is the main actor) but they have to ge given IV or IM and they have a lot of potentially nasty side effects. I haven't yet been able to convince myself (and therefore I haven't really pressed the issue with my ID doctor) that I absolutely HAD to have them. But I might reach that point some day. It's an option I am keeping in a corner of my mind I had gentamycin 20 years ago whilst in hospital in Sydney Australia, for what was diagnosed (by me!) as a pelvic infection, and the doctors were so fed up that they gave in and gave me gentamycin for 2 weeks, it helped some but was not a cure Nelly [infections] Nelly - aminoglycosides I recall you were studying these, in ancient days of I & I-one.I am interested in them because they reportedly cannot be effluxed well by bacteria, due to being very hydrophilic. What did you learn/conclude about them?
