Guest guest
Greetings Lois: I just want to take a few minutes to write a personal thank you. Your three part message is far more than what was expected. You may not have thought about this but by writing what you have, you possibly have shown others on our list some of the basics. I have found that CP people at times can feel abandoned from the working life they used to enjoy. When an ordinary person loses a job there are usually many agencies available to help a person get back to work. When someone such as one of us tries to do something, they are often bereft because they may feel ineffectual. In your messages you explain about finding challenges, and expanding creativity. Guest guest
Amy, Seems to me that a good vocational rehabilitation counselor or guidance counselor would be helpful here. Quality of help in the state (voc.) rehab programs vary widely. You could check yellow pages under " vocational rehabilitation " and talk to people on staffs at some agencies about how you might proceed, and inquire about haw your own local state VR agency is. You might even get recommendations to a particular counselor, if that is allowed. If you are not happy with the results you get, guidance counselors at your college or highschool, or adult ed programs may be willing to help. This is not easy, but could be very important. Even a talk with a state employment services counselor could get you started, but in general, look carefully at the quality of help you get. And BTW, more list mail is good. So no appologies needed.
