Guest guest
Actually- mis-spellings as a symtpom is an interesting topic. I am a big (spelling) offender on line - transposing letters, and misspelling - and this started for me about 5 years ago (I'm 57). And on top of that sometimes I can't recognize if something is spelled correctly or not. THAT's what worries me more. I used to be a perfect in spelling, but alot of healthy people I've talk to said their spelling degrades as they age.. (but not recognition whether they're spelled correctly or not) I just wonder how many people use spell check - or go over their posts before hitting send.. I just installed a new tool bar with spell check- so if I'm not in a hurry and take the time to use it - then I'll look 'cured'. Is it an age thing? Or not? or both? I'm not sure. Guest guest
I type so fast I mispell things all the time and rarely spell check, perhaps thats rude but I hope not. But I do notice I make errors that I doubt I would've made prelyme. I was writing someone about studies and my story (article) and at some point in the email I wrote " stories " instead of " studies. " Is that lyme? Maybe. Guest guest
I hear ya, Marie. My mom was an English teacher, I didn't use to have those problems either... Ken, on the other hand, has another native language, but writes in English so well I wouldn't have guessed. Sadly, I have been and remain mono-lingual. Or, on a bad day, sub- lingual, my words melting under my tongue before I can get them out. I can only hope their B-12 content is high... Ah bad puns. Always good for what ails me. Good morning, I & I! > > Ken, > > I think you are misunderstanding me > > in so many ways that it is probably not > > of any benefit to go into them more. > > It might just compound the problems, so > > I will just drop it. Guest guest
Hi Barb, I know I'm coming into this thread a bit late, but I think it is a computer thing. It's like talking (such as teaching a class) and writing on the blackboard at the same time. It is so easy to mess up the spelling, or even the meaning, of what is being written. I think it is different parts of our brains that handle sequence of letters (spelling) and writing (or typing on a computer). I think a lot of us who might spell perfectly well if we were handwriting misspell things when we type on a computer.
