Guest guest
My 2.5 year old daughter has never been a great sleeper, but until a month ago she usually woke only once or twice a night. This wasn't great, but now she is waking 5-6 times at least per night. We are all very tired. The change occurred around the time we started using Brainchild supplements (which have helped her a lot - we have been very pleased) and around the time I started taking nature thyroid medication (she still nurses 2-4 mornings/week before I take my daily medication). We have started giving her melatonin, and she goes to sleep much more easily, but still wakes frequently. We will try raising her dose a bit - she took 1 mg last night - but I'm wondering if something in the brainchild might be interfering with sleep or if it's my meds, perhaps? I have only noticed positive changes during the day time recently, except that some days she is rather tired until nap time! (My husband and I are bitterly jealous of her nap time these days!). My only other thought is that we increased her lipoceutical glutathione dose to 1/2 tsp 2x/day about 2 weeks ago, but the sleep was already going downhill before that. Does anyone give their child the entire daily dose of brainchild in the morning? I've been giving it after breakfast and dinner... I already cannot divide it into the 3 recommended doses due to my daughter's school and ABA schedule. Thanks very much from an exhausted mom,
Guest guest
Hey , my son always had sleep problems too until we found out it was related to yeast in his gut. Every time we used an antifungal (like Nystatin, Difflucan or Sporenox), our son started sleeping through the night. Once we stopped using the antifungal, the sleep problems return (as did the yeast). Before antifungal therapy, our son never slept through the night, so I know your pain! Another thing you may want to look into is using 5-HTP instead of Melatonin. 5-HTP is a precursor to Melatonin and kicks in several hours after taken at bedtime to create Melatonin. If your child doesn't have trouble falling to sleep but wakes up in the middle of the night, 5-HTP may work to keep your child asleep. Hope you get some rest!
