What I was talking about is the attitude behind one's giving. If one gives with

the attitude of being 'in a position to help the great unwashed', what they

actually get - aside from your few measly pence - is a faceful of your

arrogance. And they will tend to resent that terribly.

The rest may 'sound fine'. I've lived by it for past forty-odd years and am

still

here (and very nicely, thank you) to tell the tale.

So are most of those I've stopped to help.

And I find I haven't had to move too many of them into my place (or out of it)

either.

Must be a different species of 'realistic'.

I am so sorry! I been in a very familiar scenario....

I resorted to sleeping outside in the back seat of my

car last night (it was cold and uncomfortable, i'm a

really tall person).... I was/am stuck in a hotel

room with an obnoxiosuly loud snorer and a thumb

sucker/teeth grinder. Getting my own room is not an

option. I played my IPOD really loud last night but

it did not help.....

I had to do that up in the Catskill mountains a few years ago...bear country!

found out my girlfriend snores like a MAN so I slept in my tiny car

(I am tall too) and it really sucked!!!
