Guest guest
When I had used my Gateway I was using Windows 98 and I think I would format the hard drive about once a year. Windows 98 is notorious for crashing. I would save all my program information, reformat the hard drive and start over. After that it would be good until I overtasked it. That's when I decided to buy Windows XP. Matter of fact, I did it, one Saturday while Insoon was asleep after Win98 crashed. I went and bought Win XP had it installed and had Insoon's breakfast in bed before she could argue! :-) If you can, try to budget a few dollars each month. Memory is real cheap to upgrade, and recently so are PCs. You would be suprised. You can find a PC cheaper now than what you paid for yours that does twice as much! http://www.tigerdirect.com Abijaan, I have a computer in my den doing nothing, that I would ship to you no problem. I wish I could help. MaC abijann <no_reply > wrote: I really missed being with the group. Our computer completely went the other day. A friend of my husbands is going to try to wipe our harddrive completely clear and download everything again into it. We cannot connect to the internet, it only clicks and there is no dial tone or dialing up after that. My husband tried to reload Windows into it and tried to update as much as possible with Windows 98, but that didn't work. His friend had a spare that his sister gave to him and he set that up for us to use just temporary, so for a little while...we will still be able to be on the web. Our monitor works okay. We cannot afford a new one so if his friend cannot fix it, I don't think we will be able to stay on. Thank you all for caring so much. I very much enjoyed being with all of you. My husband is stable and I'm doing okay. I'm so happy that some of you are being evaluated for transplant. The testing is mostly like having an x-ray done. The worst one is the liver biopsy cause it is invasive, the others are not. They will sedate you for it, if you ask, and you won't have to experience it. The evaluation form is to find out if your family supports you, if you truly want and are able to face having the transplant, if you are compliant with all the doctor tells you, if you are truthful about all things, and if you will take care of the organ by following everything the doctors ask afterwards. If you have all this, that I stated above, you should have no problem with this form or the one you may be given by the phycologist later on. The unknowns ahead are always frightening...don't let it shake you too much. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask...so many are on here to help those through the things that other ones here have already been through. This link is a good one for understanding most of what may go on: http://www.surgery.usc.edu/divisions/hep/patientguide/index.html I've posted that before, but it is one of the best. --------------------------------- Pinpoint customers who are looking for what you sell.
