Great advice. Photos are so very

important in tracking your childs progress. Whether its skin issues,

progression, rod erosion, etc…..I urge everyone to keep that camera out.

In our experience, x-rays don’t show everything.

Thanks, Belinda.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

I've

been meaning to post this for some time. Toby is treated at Children's in Denver and I have done this from the very beginning. When Toby is casted they give him

anesthesia and while he is under they cut off the old cast and them reapply the

next one. I never get to see his skin and how it looks in between the castings.

I give the doctor my digital camera and have them take pictures of his skin so

I can see how it is looking under his cast. It just gives me a tiny bit of a

secure feeling to be able to know what is going on under his cast.

Thought this might be helpful to anyone else out there who

gets one cast right after another.

,I have been taking pictures of 's back since you suggested it to me months ago. Before this last visit I actually saw(from the pictures I was taking)his back improve.Right now, with this new brace, I am very strict about getting a picture of his back to make sure this brace holds him as well as the last. I take one every other Thursday. Oh that is today.....pictures this evening.Belinda, I did the same thing when was going through casting. In the beginning the cast came off and a new put right back on while he was in the OR. So we never had a chance to see his skin. It made me feel so good to at least see a picture of my baby. It was weird at first to see him "out" and all hooked up to stuff, but I knew he was in excellent hands.TashaMommy of 4 year old twin boys- and

Fort Worth, Texas is currently in a brace at night.Casting 14 months.Subject: RE: FOOD FOR THOUGHTTo: infantile_scoliosis Date: Thursday, May 21, 2009, 12:42 PM
