liver and kidney failure at the same time

I am trying to find someone that has delt with the problem My life long

friend was diagnosed with end stages of cirrhosis of the liver as well

as kidney failure...the claim he only has 2 weeks to survive. Has

anyone reading this ever been thru these two failures at the same time?

He was told to go to a kidney specialist. The hospital doctor mentioned

that ...but said he felt he only had a sliver of a chance to live...I

don't trust those hospital doctors nor the hospice nurses ...what are

we up against? can he live with only a part of a liver ....maybe he can

get dialisis>???? HELP
