Thanks, for the book recommendation, . I’ll

check it out, for sure. The thyroid/hormonal imbalance issues have really

got me thinking about how many people on this group have mentioned to me during

this scoliosis journey that they also have thyroid problems……I know

that mine started before I had Liv, and after her birth it got worse…Not

to go on and on about this, but I would like to do a poll to see how many of us

are out there. I am also curious about Vit D deficiency and

scoliosis. This may not lead to anything, but I am very interested to see

if there is any correlation whatsoever…. I’m running

late to acupuncture now, but will definitely do a poll on this issue very soon.

Have a great weekend!

Hi ,

I may not be around for the poll because we have another surgery coming soon and it may take some time before I can get back to check e-mails regularly. I may miss it. Just in case, my son has congenital kyphosis and his vit D was low for some time as well as vit A. No thyroid problems in the family. Good luck with the poll.

Hi ,

So glad to hear you are on the right track to feeling better. You have been in our prayers. I would be interested to see the results of your poll and was wondering if you might consider including migraines? It seems so many scoli Moms suffer from migraines, but not necessarily related to thyroid issues. Just wondering if there might be a correlation?

Thanks,

Tina

Vitamin D is something I am very interested in. Miles has mild scoliosis, mild pectus excavatum and some over flexing/rolling of the feet and ankles.(He has lax ligaments not yet attributed to a specific disorder.) At our last doctor visit he ran a lot of tests (still waiting results) and he put Miles on vitamin D. I have tested low for vitamin D and have lots of medical problems -- I have periodic paralysis and we all have celiac. I'm hoping the vit D will help stablilize symptoms and stop the disease process (I also have thyroid nodules that have been on "cancer watch" for two years but don't themselves cause symptoms.) My suspected thyroid symptoms were actually familial hypokalemic periodic paralysis but all the same I keep a close watch on my thyroid because lots of people in my family have thyroid problems. This will be

interesting!--
