Guest guest
Hi Raceylady212, Welcome to the group. My wife passed away from cirrhosis and did end up with both liver and kidney failure. When the liver starts to fail the kidneys are over worked trying to remove toxins and other substances from the body that the liver can longer do. Because of this the kidneys start to fail as well. When this happens it is a very bad sign and leaves a poor prognosis. Dialysis is an option but this won't keep the liver from failing or effecting other organs like the heart. My prayers are with you and your friend. MaC raceylady212 wrote: this is my second message....has anyone delt with a person that had both kidney failure, and end stages of cirrhosis ??? Guest guest
Also one thing I didn't mention in my last post was that kidney failure in a cirrhosis patient is called Hepatorenal syndrome. I will post more info about that in a bit. Right now I have a fussy six year old to attend to. :-) MaC > > this is my second message....has anyone delt with a person that had > both kidney failure, and end stages of cirrhosis ???
