Guest guest
> > Hows your thyroid? [re white cells] > Hey, damn good question, THANKS for pointing that out, that possible connection never occured to me. In fact I just discovered yesterday that I had a TSH of 2.42 in Jul of 04. Thats well on the high side according to some people. I was extremely sick then so it might not be so high now, and 10 days later I had a normal total T4. But I am always extremely cold sensitive, have a lowish body temp, and a very low heart rate, for what those values are worth (some would say alot). Hopefully the fact that I've also had low white cells of all kinds, and also low platelets on and off, means I dont have something like anti-neutrophil autoantibiodies going on. I have been aware of the chiropracters and Lowe who treat fibro/cfs with thyroid (often T3 alone), carefully determining dose empirically. Lowe wrote a 1000 page, 1000s-of-refs textbook on his theory, which I read last summer before I learned about CFS infections. Its a decent book (minus a few odd points), very scientific and decently intellectually honest, tho I think the theory that CFS is simply glandular and/or cellular hypothyroidism is almost certainly wrong. But they seem like really good people... Lowe spent a long ass time writing his book and I really doubt he made much money on it, nor do I think he necessarily expected much recognition. There is also the question of whether topping up thyroid could help immune function, tho I would guess that the palliative effects achieved by the Lowes (they claim many remissions and near- remissions) probably occurs primarily thru other means. It should be noted that thyrotoxicosis can apparantly cause permanant damage, so thyroid is not something people should fool around with lightly; its very serious. I definitely dont want this white count crap dragging me down, limiting my abx and palliative intake.
