I've heard of this as well and I do use apple cider vinegar externally fairly

consistantly on my face. I would be interested in finding more out on this as

well.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

Subject: apple cider vinegar?

I've read various places that raw apple cider vinegar and honey

diluted in a glass of water is health-promoting. NT does not

discuss this at all and I'm wondering if anyone has any hard facts

on the benefits of the vinegar on a daily basis. It's only a

tablespoon per day that is suggested.

Comments?

It's also great on hair! After shampooing, just fill a big glass to the

top with water and a good glug-glug's worth of vinegar, and pour it over

your hair. (If you have long hair, dip the ends in the cup first.) It

rinses all the shampoo out, softens and detangles, and not only prevents

but actually heals split ends!

I have waist-length straight hair, which I get cut only once or twice a

year. The stylists can't believe I cut it so infrequently, because I

have NO split ends; before I used vinegar rinses the shafts would be

split halfway up the length!

Oh, use it only once or twice a week. If you use it every time you

shampoo, your hair will get so soft it will become unmanageable.

I found a recipee in a book on making your own personal care items. The apple

cider vinegar can be used just plain or, as I have done, soaked nettle leaves

(or other herbs can be used) in the vinegar for a couple of weeks. just like

making an herbal tincture.

This is used as a toner and it softens the skin. It stinks when you put it on,

but des not take long at all to go away. I also use honey every so often on my

face.

I had tried making my own hair products, but I did not have much success with

these working very well. I basically do not purchase much for beauty care

products other than shampoo maybe some chapstick and a lotion (which I rarely

use, I just have on hand). It is cheap this way!

a,

Why do you use it on your face? What benefit does it have? How do you use

it?

Carma, Would you suggest this in place of conditioner? or would you use

conditioner on the days you do not use this? I also have long hair and

cannot manage it unless I use conditioner every day because of the tangles.

I have finally switched to using Aubrey organic conditioner and shampoo

which has made a huge difference but it is so very expensive it would be

nice to know a cheaper alternative. Thanks for the suggestion I think I

might just give it a try!

I began using it instead of conditioner - and haven't used conditioner

in about 6 years! My hair looks better than it *ever* has. ACV works

much better than conditioner at detangling, IMHO. Of course I can only

use conditioner on the ends of my hair, since putting it on the roots

makes it too heavy and flat, as my hair is board straight with no body;

curly hair might be different. I just use the ACV twice a week and

nothing but shampoo the rest of the time. My hair remains easy to comb

out thru several shampoos, and if I notice it is getting difficult to

comb, I realize I've gone too many shampoos without ACV.

Oh, and the " salad smell " goes away as soon as your hair dries, though

it does linger on the towel. ;-)

I also have used ACV as a rinse regularily and always liked the results.

Lately I've been using a batch of lacto-fermented ginger soda that

didn't work out too well for drinking and I find that I like it even

better than ACV on my hair.

==>Most candida sufferers react to vinegar (see my article on Yeasty,

Moldy & Fungi-Type Foods, but they may be okay having unpasteurized

unfiltered vinegar like Braggs. That's why I recommend substituting

vinegar with lemon juice.
