Guest guest
Try and use phonic sounds ie yes cuh is for clown but buh is for bottle not bee. Does letterland do this I do not know.? -- and yes, marvellous, appropriate speech . For a logical person phonics is easier I think. You could try flashcards ie cards with words on them (make them yourself) and ask him to read them. Shuffle them each time. Make them phonic " and " " but " xx sally bbrowne123 wrote: > > Took my boy to Asda yesterday (big mistake) meltdown as soon as we > went in (i wonder if our kids sense the radars they use at the > entrance to stop shoplifters???) > > anyway, he calmed down and later, he was holding his daddy's hand > whilst I shopped. Guest guest
ur not boring us at all all, my son said mummy for the first time at the weekend..And I didnt speak for an hour in shock , I spent most of that morning in tears, as I thought for most parents ,that would not be a big deal at the age of 5and half , yet hearing those words were as equivilent as the first day that I had held him in my arms at the hospital...Obviously!!!!!!! havnt heard them since ..lol but its the little things that matter with us parents.. pavs Subject: Another "oh my god" momentTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Date: Wednesday, 2 July, 2008, 9:35 AM Took my boy to Asda yesterday (big mistake) meltdown as soon as we went in (i wonder if our kids sense the radars they use at the entrance to stop shoplifters? ??)anyway, he calmed down and later, he was holding his daddy's hand whilst I shopped. Next i heard was "mommy take my hand". Then he screamed "HOLD my hand" - again nothing to most parents, but for a boy who didnt speak last year more than one word, well its just amazing. I had no idea he knew any pronouns except in the sentence "I want", much less putting a sentence together like that. Then when we got home he was quizzing me " C is for bottle? He looked up to see if he was right, i said "B is for bottle" then he repeated it. Then he went through the whole alphabet, very quietly, a is for apple, c is for clown, etc etc (THANK YOU LETTERLAND) My diary of his achievements is filling up, i need a new book. I know i am probably boring most of you but i can't help it. Not happy with your email address? Get the one you really want - millions of new email addresses available now at Yahoo! Guest guest
so far from boring I can't describe. This is terrific, brilliant, wonderful stuff. You helped him do this, you made this spring into life. Well done! Well done. emily > > Took my boy to Asda yesterday (big mistake) meltdown as soon as we > went in (i wonder if our kids sense the radars they use at the > entrance to stop shoplifters???) > > anyway, he calmed down and later, he was holding his daddy's hand > whilst I shopped. Guest guest
Hi Puddens, he is 5 and 4 months. 2 years of waiting waiting waiting, giving up on biomed, hoping " God " would " fix " it, up till 3.00am every night researching, you name it, we all do it, we have all been there. I cant explain it, i dont know what clicked with him. Vitamin D a few months back did something, taking him off all supps did something too, i think his wee body got a rest and then he came back more ready to tolerate them. I only think this, i dont really know. Most recently only changes have been a proper chelation round and the regular use of acetyl L carnitine. How can we possibly know what is making changes? Could be maturation too. Our kids will obviously reach a level of understanding after ingesting information for so long and then begin to use it. Question is how they use it. Thats the mystery i wish i could understand. .. > > BB > how old is your son? He is having a great year well done.. >
