Guest guest
I just got back from my 20 year reunion and I was talking to my friend who had SSSS but said she seemed to learn to cope with it by her teen years. Her son also has it, but is 13 and is pretty severe (like my daughter ). Anyway, since it doesn't seem like it is possible to just " learn to cope " with it, I started to ask her questions about around the time it seemed to go away. I have had a theory about nerves in the face and/or the tympanic nerve which leads to the ear being affected by tooth development in the mouth, especially changes around age 8. This would explain the genetic nature of the condition--maybe more shallow nerve around the teeth roots or something. She said that she had her wisdom teeth pulled when she was 16 or 17, which was around the time when she " learned to cope " with the sounds. So I was wondering how many of you have had all 4 wisdom teeth removed? Just curious. You never know.... Thanks, Kathy Howe
