Guest guest
If you have IC or idiopathic pelvic pain, I really recommend learning about this pathogenesis, developed by Wise & ANderson at Stanford University Urology - http://pelvicpainhelp.com/ http://chronicprostatitis.com/myoneuropathy.html I cant remember if it applies to IC, but I think so. You can find out. The treatment based on this pathogenesis cured my nasty bladder & testicular pain. It seems to be at least distinctly beneficial to most people with idiopathic pelvic pain. I do not know if those guys have published anything; I stopped paying attention to that world when I was cured. I think the problem (myoneuropathy, hypertonus) probably originates in the nervous system, but I dont necessarily agree with Wises view that anxiety is the primary underlying cause. However there is little doubt that it is a factor, with stress precipitating flares in many sufferers. Of course, if I had to guess right now, I would guess that most anxiety, absent severe psychotrauma, is in turn caused by microbial infection.
