Guest guest
This is interesting because the same thing happens in treated syphilis in humans. Organisms remain but do not cause disease. This is absolutely mystifying because the infective dose of Tp in humans is under 10 organisms. One would think that any organisms remaining after treatment would come roaring back, but they usually dont. Acquired immunity could definitely be a factor in this phenomenon but syphilis immunization accords very little protection in the rabbit (also in the human I think). http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi? cmd=Retrieve & db=pubmed & dopt=Abstract & list_uids=12404158 & query_hl=
