  • 2 weeks later...

I am a special ed teacher who was looking for a natural way to work

with ADD and learning disabilites when I found the neuro. The

brainmapping was years later. I was recruited to certify I guess cause

teachers are trained to teach and they had a lot of therapists trying

to teach and not getting people through the now rigourous cert.

process. Not the case for awhile though.

I was pursuing my Neuropsych PhD when my sister started having seizures

and my mother was also hospitalized. I want to go back and finish it

soon, hopefully with grant money. I'd love to do Lyme as a thesis,

especially Lyme-induced autism.

Okay, once again I foray into this discussion after watching some posts.

Above. How many credits does one need for a Neuropsych PHD? How close were you to this degree in other words how many credits do you have? Did you do any internships? If so for who and how long and where? When giving out credentials, I believe they should be a little bit more detailed.

So also, is brain mapping requiring a certification only? And if so, what are the certification hours and what does one have to do to get certified. I am certified as a trainer of trainer's for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Spectrum Disorders. My very first training was one week long and I was certified.

Also, someone in one of her posts had asked a specific question that was not answered. That bothers me.

I see a lot of talking around and a lot of helpful information going out along with contact numbers for people that are used and who Helen has collaborated with in the past.

This concerns me - a person can add some suggestions and then say - hey, go here, and try to make it not look like a sell. I can't help it. I see it as a sell. Giving people just enough information to peak their interest or need for a quick or even moderate length or long fix when everything else they have tried has failed, is in and of itself a sell. A person has to keep going back to that source for information that is in depth and key to the person asking the questions. Unless all phone calls etc. are free of charge - all of the time. That is of course if a person has not decided to go for brain mapping and something is posted that they are interested in.

Okay, it is 4 AM and I am finally exhausted! Just thought I would check in with all.

All of the above being said: I am interested in the brain mapping - but then I would go look for it - google it against recommendation - because that is kind of what I do - so that I can know all sides of the story regarding brain mapping and obtain much more information that can be given in a L & R thread.

Again, as I have said before. Cheryl could just say - look guys, this is what I found and then we can ask questions as per usual and make a decision. The practitioner would not have to come on board so to speak. I thank Cheryl and have utter faith that she is only trying to help! She has helped me many times by reading posts and posts directed to me! THANK YOU CHERYL.

My lowly thoughts.....

MJ
