OT: Can you drink too much water???

I’m

on a ton of these forums, and on one there was a discussion about drinking

water. I had mentioned that I drink about a gallon of water a day. Someone

responded that they heard that drinking that much can flush out vitamins and

minerals and ultimately make you hungry.

Anyway,

I was wondering what you guys have heard or thought about that. I seriously

have gotten into the habit of drinking at least a gallon of my filtered then

prilled water. I love it. I drink it all day long! I need to know if I need

to watch how much I’m drinking! I don’t go an inordinate amount of

times to the bathroom now – my body has gotten used to it. But I’m

wondering if it could really be affecting the vitamins and such. My gut

feeling is that it’s not. In fact, I have a vague memory (thanks Lyme

brain) of reading something about it… the water can’t really pull

the nutrients out of the cells... Something about osmosis not working that

way.

I've read that distilled water and RO (reverse osmosis) water will do that because they are total devoid of any minerals. , have you tried MSM?  I don't recommend it to people if they aren't water drinkers.  My body responded dramatically to it last fall.  It sure seems to do what it's supposed to: make the cell more permeable.  If you decide to try it, go slow.  I started with 1 teaspoon a day and built up to 4 teaspoons w/in 10 days. Too fast. Bad headache.  Now I just take 1 teaspoon/day.  Some people take 4 tablespoons!

My herxes now come on faster and clear faster.  I am able to take less thyroid meds 'cause it penetrates the cell better. It really has been amazing.  I purchased answersfromnature.com upon the recommendation from a friend.  It's the cheapest supplement in my cupboard (counter and draws).  $35 for 2# and free shipping if you order 4#.

, I was listening to some health practitioner being interviewed on the One Radio Network a while ago who said that drinking too much water can be hard on the kidneys because the kidneys actually have to pump fluid through them causing them to tire out. Who knows if this is true tho...

As far as the minerals are concerned i've always heard that if the water we drink is properly mineraled with trace minerals, prill, etc...then it wont pull minerals out of us. But apparently our body needs to add minerals to the water before we can pass it out again so drinking demineralized water will cause us to lose minerals.

I would encourage the water - not more than that but if your body has adjusted don't worry. However, keep in mind that when you have 'killed' bugs it is the 'water' (liquid system in the body) that is very important in 'washing' the toxins out, so to speak. If that is dehydrated it in itself can cause all kinds of negative symptoms.

Concentrace.

ConcenTrace Trace Minerals are the ones i'm on and muscle tested showed that not only are they good for me but that I need more.

I sent a post out on Mold neurotoxins (also applies to lyme). The biotoxin pathway chart that I referred to says that "reduced MSH can cause the pituitary to produce lower levels of ADH (anti-diuretic hormone), leading to thirst, frequent urination and susceptibility to shocks from static electricity". I remember something about us being hyperosmolar from somewhere and that it was kind of like the water we drink just flows through, and really doesn't get to the cells like it should because of the osmolality. I am ALWAYS thirsty and certainly don't have diabetes. I think this chart is on Dr. Shoemaker's website, www.chronicneurotoxins.com also. It really helped me put some of the pieces together a few years ago; still need a few more pieces!!! LOL, Marsha
