Guest guest
No, my body temperature is normal. That is about the only thing with regard to this disease that is " normal " though.
Guest guest
Jayne, Periodically I will run a low grade fever and want to sleep all the time. Sometimes I will also be very warm but feel goose bumps come up, but I won't feel cold. As for body temp it's about normal unless I'm fixing to get really sick and then for about a day it will be lower than normal. Dumb huh? I've always felt I never had anything simple...always different. Are you doing the low grade fever thing? Makes you feel really punky, doesn't it? Guest guest
Jayne, Just a thought...maybe your body is still fighting the pneumonia's last little resistance...or it could mean you're not completely over it. I know the low grades knock me for a loop, usually just before I come down with something awful. With our immune systems down it's harder for us to shake any germ we get. When I was MTX I fought off stuff without much success. I hope you will soon feel better and that you'll feel like taking on the world. Hang in there. donna The Sherman's <sherman.fam@...> wrote: Yes Donna I am running a fever the last eleven days. He is calling it FUO (fever of unknown orgin) sounds serioushuh? Oh well. I wonder if it at all has anything to do with pa. Yousee, my RD and my reg dr are completely separate....I don't discuss myarthritis with the reg dr....maybe because he failed to diagnose it...Idon't know. Guest guest
Yeah, I almost always have a low grade temp lately. My husband says he thinks it is because when your joints are hot and swollen, it stands to reason that your temp would go up. Amy
Guest guest
My little guy used to be a hot box as well but cooled off as his body became healthier. The cooling came before we knew about but it was about a year into doing other things to help his messed up immune system. I think his allergies especially played a big part in the extra heat. Guest guest
Hi Barb, has your son been on anti-fungals, anti-virals and abx? Has he been tested for Lyme and mycoplasma? I'm told that the lyme Western Blot by IGenex is pretty reliable, also Garth Nicholson's lab and Immunosciences Lab. Also see bowen labs at www.bowen.org/information.htm . They offer a different type of test for lyme. Barb, If you wouldn't mind, please share what medications he has been on so far. I pray that his cooling off is a good sign. Be well, Barb Katsaros <barbkatsaros@...> wrote: Not yet. His immune system is not cooling off very well. He was on an extensive vitamin regime for 2 years, which may be contributing to his slow response to the nids protocol. He cont. to have a good deal of allergic response. He does not have pandas, at least not that we can tell from tests. And his viral involement seems to be minimal. Guest guest
Barb, Chinese think night sweating, bed wetting are because of weak kidney. It happen to when SSRI is too high, or change of med. All Dr. G. med are metabilized by kidney. There are herbs for it, but the smell, the tast are not for children. But you may be able to look into direction of finding some kind of food, or fruit that helps with kidney function here. Best Luck. Jin > Not yet. His immune system is not cooling off very > well. Guest guest
, did I already respond about the meds? He has been on famvir, diflucan, paxil, zoloft, emycin, iron and effexor. Dr. G thinks the night sweats are from allergies. My husband gets the same thing off and on. seems to get this every night. His hair is so sweaty and it works down to the top area of his shirt. I change his shirt almost every night and turn his pillow over. Barb --- jinyang061629 <yanglou@...> wrote: > Barb, > > Chinese think night sweating, bed wetting are > because of weak > kidney. Guest guest
Hi Barb, I hope the sweats ease up soon. Make sure he gets water in the morning. I feel dehydrated in the a.m. from them. My temp raises a bit (between 99-100) before I go to bed and I get the chills, then the sweats. It definately coincides with how I'm feeling and linked to the immune system. Perhaps it is allergies in your son's case. I wonder what his temp is once he is in bed, than again after the sweats. Mine drops slightly and feels like a fever breaking. The night sweats have gotten worse since I'm on valtrex. Maybe the sweats are the body's way of removing toxins. So maybe our bodies are healing...wouldn't that be nice. I wish I knew more. Good luck. Barb Katsaros <barbkatsaros@...> wrote: , did I already respond about the meds? He has been on famvir, diflucan, paxil, zoloft, emycin, iron and effexor. Guest guest
My son, Ammon, use to get bad night sweats but that has stopped with treatment. He's been with Dr.G since October 2002 and I believed the night sweats stopped within the first half a year... it's been a LONG time since I've noticed them. Ammon never used a blanket or pjs at night and that too is no longer an issue- he's in jammies and covered with a blanket every night with no heat problems. He does still tend to over-heat easily outside in the hot/humid summer months. - in AL Reality lies beyond the horizon... Guest guest
Hi all, Do any of you monitor your body temperature? I have been monitoring mine for a couple of weeks and I don't seem to go much above 97.4, ever. I am taking Armour (1 month so far). Also, I currently have a couple infections (one in my sinuses and one in my gut). One would think I would have a fever, but all I am is VERY heat intolerant and miserable as the temperature outside climbs. Right now I am 97.1, it is 81 degrees inside and I am miserable, angry and depressed. I get so very cranky when I am hot. Ideas? Thx, *S*
Guest guest
Just took my temp again and now it's 97.6.
Guest guest
For one thing taking your basal temp on the morning under your arm before getting out of bed normal would be about 97.8. You need to be up 3 hrs. before taking temps they are always low the first 3 hrs after you wake up in the morning. How long have you been on Levothyroxine I don't like T4 only meds for most they don't convert into T3 your temps are low because your still Hypo. on your Thyroid. The sweating can be your adrenals not putting out enough Aldosterone and Renin have them checked in the morning not adding any salt to your food the day before. Also try adding some Sea Salt to a glass of water first thing in the morning see if this makes you feel better. If you have low Aldosterone levels your body dumps your sodium. Here is a link on taking your Temps to tell how your Adrenals and Thyroid are doing in this link you can print out a chart and keep track of your temps. When you first start on Thyroid meds your temps should go up a little the in about 2 weeks they will fall back down if your not on enough med. My temps come up from 96.2 to 98.6 but it took dam near a yr. http://www.drrind.com/therapies/metabolic-temperature-graph I like Desiccated Thyroid meds like Armour problem is you can't get Armour any more but this med you can get and it's the same as Armour. http://www.erfa-sa.com/thyroid_usa.htm Read this site they helped me a lot and I ended up a mod there when there forum was up. In this link you will see how I got started treating my Adrenals and Thyroid. I did this all by taking my temps. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=5 & t=24 http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/2009/09/29/fda-form-not-required-with-erfa/ Co-Moderator Phil > From: dougballard@... <dougballard@...> > Subject: Body Temp > > Date: Friday, October 30, 2009, 12:14 PM > I'm supposed to be monitoring my body > temp in the afternoon so I don't go hyperthyroid. I > just started on levothyroxine last week. I finally got > around to getting a thermometer and out of curiosity I took > my temp this morning. It was 95.4 using my left arm > pit. When I did the same thing at Dr. M's office it > was 98.0. I took it this morning after getting up, > showering, taking out the trash and taking my meds. It > just seemed awfully low to me and huge difference from when > I took it at Dr. M's office. I just took it again at > work about an hour after taking it at home and it is now > 96.6. What does this mean? What's crazy is that > I'm always really hot and sweat profusely if I barely > move. Also, my labs were technically normal even > though I'm hypo with my point being I would think with the > temp differences that I would be off much more on the > labs. Could the temp variance be something besides > thyroid? > > > > ------------------------------------ > >
Guest guest
As you will see in my first reply to you your temps will be all over the place through out the day. Best way to take them is to start when your up 3 hrs then every 3 hrs. 3x's a day add them up and div. by 3 this is your avg. Keep track of your avg. temps from day to day this will show you how your doing on your meds. Then start to come up when your on your best dose. And will go to high if your on to much.
