Guest guest
Hi all! I am scheduled for my next Endo visit on April 16. That is still more than a month away. The doc would like me to take my Armour before the visit and the labs this time. What I would like opinions on is how I should do this? I don't want the T3 spiking for the test. I currently take 90 mg, all at once at about 6:00 am. My visit is scheduled at 2:00 pm. Should I start splitting my dose now, so in a month I willl only have taken half, or will it be late enough in the day to not matter? On a side note, at my yearly physical with my Gyno, she always asks about my thyroid. I told her where I was at with my levels, the low T4, and how I was working on the Endo to add T4 to the Armour. She asked me if I wanted some T4 samples! I told her I'd wait until after this next visit, but I may get back to her on it. Maybe I can talk her into treating my thyroid... couldn't hurt to try. She has never used Armour, but if I'm already there, I can ease her into it =). Cathryn
Guest guest
Cathryn, you won't have to worry about the T3 spiking by 2 pm, if you're taking it at 6 am. T3 does not hold a spike that long, only from 4 to 9 hrs, tops. That's why I always take mine in split doses. Tx A few opinions please > Hi all! > I am scheduled for my next Endo visit on April 16. Guest guest
Cathryn--You might try splitting your dose just to see if you feel better. Dr Dommisse in Tucson always prescribes a split dose. I started feeling better with a split dose, and now I take it 3 times a day. A little bit of a hassle but it helps keep me even. Just playing the devils' advocate here...are you sure your gyno is not just looking for the $$$ from doing extra testing? Several years ago, mine said she would test my thyroid. When the results came back, her office called and told me to see my endo for treatment! I don't go to her anymore. > Hi all! > I am scheduled for my next Endo visit on April 16. Guest guest
Hi , I feel pretty good now, other than pretty tired by evening... of course if I split the dose, I'm afraid I will feel tired twice a day. <g> My gyno is probably the best doc I have. She is great. She does not do any testing of the thyroid because she knows I get it elsewhere. When I was having trouble with my Internist doing the FT3 and FT4 tests, her lab tech was the one who wrote down the actual codes for the tests for me, and said if my Internist still won't order the tests, come back and the gyno's office would. My gyno told me she has never treated thyroid with anything other than synthetic T4, and would be ignorant of how to treat it... she is wonderful in so many areas. Took care of some nasty cervical cancerous issues I was having <g> and now I'm all better. If anyone in the Dallas area needs an excellent female doc who listens and takes care of things, her name is Hays, and she is in the Gaston area, on Washington, near Baylor. She is an OB/GYN. Delivers lots of babies =). Cathryn > Cathryn--You might try splitting your dose just to see if you feel > better. Dr Dommisse in Tucson always prescribes a split dose. Guest guest
When I started splitting my dose was when I started to feel more even instead of getting really tired by night time. It's just something to think about. Everybody reacts different, too. > > Cathryn--You might try splitting your dose just to see if you feel > > better.
