Hi,

Started doing a little research and came across Thorne's description

of silymarin (milk thistle):

The antioxidant activity of silymarin stabiizes hepatic (liver) cell

membranes, neutralizes free radicals, and maintains liver

glutathione levels.

So, Rich, have you investigated Milk Thistle's ability to help with

glutathione productioN? Could this be one reason to explain why a

lot of people report success with Milk Thistle?

I'm also wondering if you've heard of the following product, which

is also claiming to boost glutathione production and immune

function. It's whey combined with dmg.

They also claim that DMG is very helpful for autism (another area

that you've been connecting to glutathione depletion).

I've been doing more research on Protandim, the new product that

contains ingredients which boost the body's ability to produce it's

own enzymes and antioxidants. One of the 5 main ingredients is Milk

Thistle (Silymarin).

I'm not sure any of these ingredients alone are so unique, just that

they are all together in one pill and you only need one per day

which is something I find appealing.

Here's an interesting thread on the topic:

Of course, these people are looking at it as a potential fountain of

youth. I'm simply looking at it as a way to improve my health by

reducing oxidative stress and perhaps boosting liver function and

glutathione production, all at the same time. Anytime I can reduce

the number of pills I take, I'm happy. :-)
