Guest guest
Deb has good thoughts, I too was thinking maybe it is time to go to the media. CNN seems to have a shortage of news items and will be pretty depleted when the jury verdict comes back. This is an outrage and it should be exposed. Marie > paul - my heart goes out to you....how incredibly discouraging...perhaps, a call to your state sen or state rep asking them who to contact in sacramento could be helpful....who is higher in the hierarchy than the guy who said no? perhaps a letter to the newspapers? agencies/companies don't like to have their bad stuff publicized and you do write beautifully.... it's all comes down to money.. > good luck, > deb
Guest guest
Hi , I just want to join in the chorus here. Sometimes publicity can do some interesting things. I have heard so many horrible stories about HMO's refusing necessary medical care. I think you might well get CNN's attention. But it might also be a good idea to contact your local TV and radio stations, talking with their consumer protection reporters if you can. What often happens with this kind of story is that a local station will carry it, and then CNN picks it up. It is unusual for CNN to do the first publication of it. You might also try 20/20 and 60 minutes, and any other such programs. I wish you luck with this, . You certainly do deserve to catch some lucky breaks. You have been through so very much; I wish there were something I could do to help. But as long as medicine (which used to be a profession and is now simply a business the goal of which is not to heal people but rather to make as much profit as possible) runs solely on the profit motive, I don't think there is very much any of us can do. Unfortunately, during my lifetime, I have seen the same thing happen to (what used to be) the profession of law. Both my grandfathers and some of my uncles were lawyers before me, and they viewed law as a profession for the greater good. By the time I was practicing law, it had turned to street fighting and who was the meanest barnyard dog and could manage to get the most 'wins' which actually means how many dollars they can accumulate. I left the practice after experiencing the lies, deceptions and general lack of integrity among the lawyers I had to deal with. In view of the fact that I know it occurs in both medicine and law, I think it may be a pervasive 'infection' in society at large. Has society become just a place where people fight over money and don't mind causing other peoples' deaths and pain for it? Sorry for getting off the point here. I do wish you well, , but I also think the society we live in is sick just as much as you and I are. Sincerely, [infections] Re: agent scha Deb has good thoughts, I too was thinking maybe it is time to go to the media.
