Barb,

I was also amazed at how many people actually belong to the list, but never

post. There must be a ton of lurkers out there. But, I can't imagine

reading all these great messages and not responding. Hopefully, some of

them will de-lurk and decide to join our little " family " .

, who loves being a part of this group and meeting such wonderful

people

Barb, Elena and Janick--Thank you for the warm welcome! I am excited about

being a part of this. Hopefully I will get the hang of things after a while.

You asked for a little more about me, I wasn't exactly sure if I needed to

put that info here but in any case... my name is Jenni, I'm 25, been doing

Taebo since September 4. I have lost about 20 lbs since. I only have the

first 4 studio tapes and I rotate using the advanced and the basic 5-6 times

a week. I can already tell that you guys are a great group!! Thanks for

welcoming me!

Dear Jenni,

I would like to say hello and welcome. This group is my lifeline to

staying motivated. I have been doing taebo for the same amount of time as

you and have lost 20.5 pounds, and lots of inches. I do the studio basic

every day, and was going to start adding some of the advanced floor exercises

on Monday, but I have been so busy that I missed two days of working out. It

upsets me very much when that happens. Hopefully tomorrow I can get back in

my routine again. I think you will enjoy being a part of this group. The

topics can be very diverse and interesting. And the people are very real and

warm, not to mention funny.

There appears to be a large number of animal lovers in this group. I

have always thought that you can tell a lot about a person's heart by the way

they treat animals.

I have to brag. I ate whatever I wanted on Thanksgiving, and then 2

days later I went out to Ponderosa with my daughter. I had sirloin tips and

French fries, in addition to food from the buffet, including cheesecake.

This morning I got on the scales and held my breath. I truly expected to see

a gain of a couple of pounds. But I had lost 2.5 pounds instead. So I feel

on top of the world today!

Barb, my money is on you, but I think your husband is adorable for

rising to the challenge. ;o) Sharon

Proving again that sometimes eating more is necessary when increasing

exercise to keep that metabolism churning

Thank you Elena. My biggest hope is that the next 3 months will bring the

same results. One of the greatest things about Taebo is that, I may have

lost 20 pounds, but it looks like 40. My husband says it is extremely

noticeable. He is very fit, and has always taken good care of himself. He

has been lifting weights for several years now, and looks more like a 30 year

old man, than a 40 year old. He is immensely pleased that I am so dedicated

to this. I have gotten more attention in the last three months than I have

since we were first dating. My husband is so very attentive since I have

been doing taebo, which is another benefit that I haven't heard anyone

discuss! ;o) Sharon

Wow, I've never been an inspiration before. Thanks Elena! I'm pretty

excited about it but now I really LIKE doing taebo, it's not about losing

weight anymore. Ha Ha... I never thought I would say something like that!

<< Hey

Now I really want to try the Live tapes! I think I will get a couple of

soon because I am sorta on a budget and can't commit to getting all of them.

Although I'm tempted to forget about my budget because I hate being out of

the know when everyone else is talking about how great the tapes are. :( Oh

well, we'll see how it goes. I am about to start a new challenge for

myself,

not to weigh myself for a month. It's a nasty habit that I am having one

heck of a time breaking. I guess I have to do it like I do everything

else... one day at a time.

Jenni

>>

Jenni, When someone asks you what you want for Christmas or Hannukah give

assign them a specific live tape. I know the budget concerns. Luckily my

fiance loves the results of Tae Bo and I don't have a credit

card....sooooo... he gets billed and I dont pay him back except by sticking

with it. It actually is great motivation on some of those hard to get with

it days.

Heres an interseting way to make money to buy new tapes (for anyone who might

be in the same predicament. I have at least 30 exercise videos I NEVER use.

I think I might sell them on e-bay. That should get me one or two tapes :-)

Jenni, ALSO start looking around in your area for others that Tae Bo. You

can preview there tapes before deciding which ones you want to plunk down the

money for.

Great Luci!!! Let's start today!!! I think if we can learn not let the scale

determine our success, we will be a lot better off!! Good luck with your

" Workout " 21 DC! You can do it and we will all be here for you!

:)

This is exactly what I do!! I know I would be happier if I wouldn't weigh

myself everyday so I'm hoping this 21 day no scale thing does for me what the

21 day taebo challenge did for me.

Tomorrow it is!! Tomorrow is a good day since I took the day off and I get to

taebo in the morning (I usually do in the evenings on weekdays). That will

make me think of you guys and how I know I... no WE can do this!

I have often thought about doing the same challenge to the point of asking myhusband to take and hide the scale but that day hasn't arrivedBarbwho finally figured out how to get the scale to give my lowest weight bystepping on it with the left foot first which is always 2 pounds lighter thanstepping on it with the right foot firstI am one of the lucky ones who has never been obssessed by the scale (well... actually, never is a strong word). I'm actually scared of the scale now. If you guys just HAVE TO weigh yourself, I would suggest weighing yourself once a week, as soon as you wake up in the morning, after "peeing", naked, before a shower... Actually the trick is to ALWAYS weigh yourself at the same time of day, under the same conditions. Your weight varies daily: usually you will weigh more in the evenings than in the mornings. Your weight also varies monthly according to menstrual cycles... It is better to look at OVERALL weight loss than changes from day to day. To help you evaluate better overall weight loss, plot your weight on a chart...

This is just my 2 cents, and this is how I got over beeing a "scale-o-holic"
