Guest guest
Thank you all for your love and support. Our family shares a great faith and believes that we will all be together again. The story was even worse than I described (too long). I did contact an attorney a few months after her death. I told him, I didn't want a dime - it would all go to charity, but they needed to be held accountable. He, sadly, said it would be a waste of our time. That nursing homes have so many lawsuits that they keep lawyers on staff. They are paid to drag out these things, so that the reward isn't worth the other attorney's time. He said further, that since my mother was terminal and they didn't cause her death (which was debatable) that the damages for her writhing and suffocating for 6 hours and me not being able to be at her side, but rather dealing with an incapable nurse wouldn't be worth him taking on the case. In other words, the nursing homes have too much power. (and we want the gov more involved in our health care? - please.) My husband was at her side while I was advocating and going off on the nurse. He came and got me the last minute. She is in a better place. :-)
