Guest guest
That's interesting. What's it's name, and what town? If they want biopsies- then this is differnt than growing a culture from a nasal swab. Have you every had a tissue biopsy? I've had several, and the technology has come a long way - at least for skin - it's not like someone put a cigarette out on your arm (which it what the procedure looked like after they were done in the 1970's). Now it heals without a scar. Barb Hmmmmmmmm bone biopsies though are rough. I've been talking to them about a pilot program they're doing and the first thing they want is tissue and bone biopsies to identify the organisms causing your illness. I wrote back and asked them if they know any doctors in the U.S. who'll do these tests just because you ask for them. I haven't heard back. I'll say it again, our medical system is messed up. penny
Guest guest
They look at nasal swabs too. But again, where do you get them done (where the results aren't thrown out as " normal flora " or before given a chance to grow - some of these organisms are very slow- growing)? Esoteric Labs in Texas is the only lab I know of who grows it all, and reports the toxicity and sensitivities on all the organisms. I'd have to go back and find all the company info because I don't recall it. They're not completely up and running yet, and communications are taking place from Mexico to Russia. I was asked to participate in their pilot program where the treatment is free and actually received a phone call for follow-up on my questions, but I was too fatigued to call back, then lost the message. I'll have to recontact them, but the treatment is going to be expensive once they're on-line. I asked if I should publicize the free pilot program but apparently they have enough people already. And it's obvious that their eventual objective is profits (not that medicine isn't all about that). If I don't pursue the pilot program, and later start seeing lots of people getting well, then it's worth scrounging up a few more thousand bucks for treatment. I'm enthusiastic about the potential for phage therapy, and I do have enough info to believe that the phages could help me, but when I was in discussions with them, I was way too fatigued to figure out how to get these tests, then figure out how to make arrangements to stay in Mexico while being treated, even if the pilot program is free. It was just too overwhelming for me to work out, plus, I'm not sure I feel like being a guinea pig in this situation. Maybe now that I " m feeling better, I'll investigate it more vigorously. But first, I've got to get this sculpture done before anything else. Oh, then my taxes. :-) penny > There's a new Russian clinic being set up just over the border in > Mexico to treat chronic illness with phage therapy.
