Maree,

I agree about what you say

with other women. I had to have a blood test on Saturday morning, and the nurse

who took the blood, asked me if I had one of the band things? I explained that

I had my gall bladder out, and she went on to tell me her sister was one of the

success stories at Dr B’s she is on the wall etc. But then she said she

look great, but I was so worried she would beat me and look better than me. All

I could think in my drug state, without giving this woman a mouthful was your sister

got a band for her health, both physical and mental, and she has to put up with

this shit from you! And you are her sister. So you we girls can be funny. That’s

why Sydband is so great, we understand where we have been, and what we have

been through….. it makes the journey easier.

Thank you for the wake

up. I am going to repack the bag today. I

really went a bit over board (Gee, Maree, that's unusual for you!!

hehe). I went for dinner with my nieces and my daughter came along

too. A very rare ocassion she wasn't down the coast on a weekend. We

had a lovely, girlie time. I was a bit disappointed there was very

little comment about my weight loss. Maybe they are over it but to be

honest all one said was 'look at you in jeans and a jacket, you have

lost a lot of weight haven't you?'. I find people/women are weird

about another's weight loss. Not too many are genuinely happy that we

are starting to look more like them. Strange breed, us women,

extremely competitive with each other. When I think about it I wonder

why, what's the prize? Usually the male of the species with a bald

head and beer gut who burps out loud and farts indiscriminately!

Anyway, the food was great, I ate too much, thank goodness

you lot put

me onto the faithful Zantac!! I have discoverd I can comfortably drink

Illusions which is great, I felt a bit 'out of it' drinking the

lemonade all the time. M.

Yep, we are funny animals us female humans. I sent a text to all

thanking them for their company on Saturday night and received a reply

for one niece saying hi, 'skinny minnie'. When we were out, all

dressed up and looking nice, and me hanging for a comment about my

weight loss, (at least), she never mentioned my weight at all. Why are

some people afraid to be kind and complimentary to another? Do they

imagine that empowers you or lessens their power to feel better than

you? What is it? This is all so new for me having never been anything

like thin previously and I have to say I am not liking the way some

people are acting. A large portion of society treated me like crap

when I was at my heaviest and now I am getting this indiffernce thing

happening. I think it is jealousy and insecurity that you/I might

imagine for one flicker of a moment that you/I am as good as them!!

Yeah, right, I have always been on the upper rung in my opinion

because I would never try to purposely be hurtful. M.

Hi again Maree,

Don't worry about it. It's human nature to want to be praised for

our efforts in whatever we do, be it doing well at school, work,

running a marathon, or even losing a helluva lot of weight. Some

people are just down right jealous and don't want to let on to you

that you look drop dead gorgeous, but I would be leaning more

towards the fact that most people just don't know how to react.

They don't want to say anything for fear of offending or embarasing

the person who has lost so much weight - because of the mindset that

obese people are in the same category of drug addicts or alcoholics.

What I mean is, you wouldn't praise a recovering alcoholic or drug

addict, you would just treat them as normal, unless they of course

want to talk about it and tell you that they are doing well with

their " problem " . So these skinny people who have never had real

obesity issues to deal with think we are like drug addicts or

alcoholics and that it might be " taboo " to raise the subject of our

weight, unless we actually give them the ok.

Oh gees, I'm talking a lot of crap here, but I guess what I'm trying

to say is those that treat you as " normal " are probably giving you

the best compliment of all. Think about it...

Luv ya, Rose.
