Guest guest
This was on ABC/Prime Time last night. http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/Health/story?id=814805 & page=1 The following bit caught my eye: " Dr. Brownlee, who heads the Center for Research on Diabetic Complications at Albert Einstein Medical College, conducted another experiment involving another enzyme boosted by Protandim called SOD. He tested diabetic mice and found their wounds simply don't heal — a problem common for diabetics. But when another diabetic mouse that was genetically engineered to have more SOD was wounded, it healed much better. " Even though they were diabetic, they healed, just like the normal, " he said. " It is a breakthrough. " " I find this interesting, because the chronic bone infection I have (chronic osteomyeltitis) which I cannot heal, is one of the big problems diabetics contend with as well, although usually in their feet (but who knows how many other undiagnosed places they have infection festering?). Also, most pwc have hormonal issues and many of us seem to be leaning toward diabetes (insulin resistance - see Shoemaker). Anyway, if this new pill can speed wound healing, perhaps it can hlep the body fight off infection? penny
