I have no articles on eye problems other than the infection i had ... Extension Oculomycosis ..But eye problems with a yeast infection is a reoccurring topic on the Candida board ....the symptoms vary but the common denominator is fungi , & now we know more ,probably a bacterial infection too.... Try the Candida site ..click archives which is searchable & type in eye problems ..

http://www.healthyawareness.com/candida_general/

Just out of interest my eye problem was life threatening ..I have a permanent dropping left eye curt icy of fungi ...despite dramatic symptoms the consultants wouldn't help , "if you had that you would be dead by now"...one leading ID man fiddled my test results ...make a formal complaint I here you say ...I did ..ever tried to bring a doc to book? forget it they are bombproof

For those interested i had every requirement & every symptom of Extension oculomycosis http://www.doctorfungus.org/mycoses/human/other/eyeinfections.htm

Extension oculomycosis

DefinitionExtension oculomycosis represents a special form of rhinocerebral zygomycosis in the diabetic patient. The infection starts in the upper portion of the nasal septum and extends into the orbit of the eye, frontal sinuses, major cerebral vessels, and subsequently the central nervous system. Rhizopus arrhizus is the most common etiologic agent. Symptoms include orbital pain, ophthalomoplegia, localized anesthesia, proptosis, limitation of movement, fixation of the pupil, and loss of vision.

Prognosis and therapyControl of diabetes is the most important factor. Systemic, local amphotericin B, or both and surgery are typically required.

LaboratoryDirect examinationClinical material, especially from the tissue surrounding the eye if the eye is not enucleated, is mounted in 10% KOH and/or Calcofluor and then examined for sparsely septate, irregularly branching hyphae that are 6-15 um in diameter.IsolationTechniques for Zygomycetes

MycologyThe techniques that apply to any of the Zygomycetes would be appropriate.
