I have a 32 year old woman 42wks and 5days pregnant. This is her

first pregnancy, so not so unusual to go a little bit over term, but

this is excessive.

Has been doing moderate exercise to try and start labour, Had

curryes,and having " lots of sex "

V. independent lady planning on a home birth.

Has had a lovely healthy pregnancy, and feels absolutely fine.

At 42wks & 1day, she came to me and I gave her

Cimicifuga racemosa 70

Rubus idaeus 30

100ml

Sig 5ml Qid

No response, except maybe less Braxton-Hicks sensations.

At 42wks & 4days

Plan B

Artemisia absinthium 20

Michella repens 30

Rubus idaeus 35

Cimicifuga racemosa 20

105ml

Sig 10ml every ½ hour.

No response at all.

She has had two sweeps, so far.

She is on her way for another scan, and asked me to think of a Plan C.

Has anyone got any ideas!!!

I would have used Artemisia vulgaris in larger quantities, but

couldn't get my hands on any quickly, so cautiously used A.

absinthium.

I was wondering if I should try her on higher dose of A. absinthium,

since I have frequently given much higher doses when treating

intestinal worms, but feeling unsure about using that approach with a

pregnant patient.

Was also wondering if I got A. vulgaris I could give more?

That is if they let her out of hospital today.

I would appreciate any comments at all, & will keep you posted.
