Adjuvant and Neoadjuvant: Disease or Therapy?

Dear Colleagues,

So far, I was sure that the two adjectives in subject line refer to

therapies. In a text that I am translating now, these are " disease

settings " . I suggested that these could be stages or periods where the

patient needs A or NA therapy. The client rejected my version and provided

the following explanation:

" The patient has cancer, they are either for adjuvant, to include

neoadjuvant or metastatic and the study is stratified on this question. It's

the disease setting or type if that helps. It is definitely not a therapy. "

I know that the client is always right. However, I am just curious if this

is true or not.

Thanks in advance,
