Guest guest
hi barb - to me benicar is associated with ileus'.....after a month or so on benicar i got an ileus, as soon as i stopped it it went away. after 7 months on benicar, mino and small dosea of zith my doc considered me a non-responder and had me dc mino and zith , keep on the benicar and add mepron and ketek (ketek instead of zith as it's half life is short and i could tolerate larger doses - in retrospect it might have worked if i'd stayed with tiny zith doses) 3 months later when i experienced a big fever and chills - i stopped the benicar and increased the ketek to full strenth - 3 days later the first really bad ileus, another one a month later which eventually cleared with flagyl ( re sam donta + gut problems + flagyl).... it was only a month or so ago - 2-3 months post benicar that i suddenly realized my tv and computer monitor were really dark and set them back to normal - so there is probably a long term effect on d metabolism (after stopping benicar i restarted vits with d) - have orders to redo the d tests - just haven't gotten to it.....interesting enough, ever since i went on benicar over a year ago and 4 months off of it i've been able to sleep thoughtthe night without having to get up to pee - a rather nice lasting benefit!! i have always thought that everyone really focuses on the anti-inflammatory aspect of benicar but i think the increased perfusion is just as important..... bugs getting more dispersed??? or maybe higher immune suppression?? somehow my ileus' were connected to benicar and tm even admitted such in one of his posts..... if i ever get to a point where i'm pretty active (now, mostly homebound with a foggy brain) and i feel my pathogen load is much decreased i really wouldn't be adverse to trying the mp again....i think those who respond well to the mp are often half way to health to start... deb
