What do you mean when you say 'ileus'

DO you mean bowel paralysis when you use the term ileus?-

Or

Did you ever have sever IBS or crohns? I've heard that if the

intestines heal too fast, they can form strictures- which is a

cobwebbing of scarr tissue which blocks the intestine...

Which do you think this is what it was?

What was the explanation the MP.com gave for the possibility

that it could be the Benicar.

What do you mean when you say 'ileus'DO you mean bowel paralysis when you use the term ileus?-

definitely paralysis - like labor pains but no pauses! had a cup of tea once and several hours lated vomited it up!! - no movement at either end!!

OrDid you ever have sever IBS or crohns? I've heard that if theintestines heal too fast, they can form strictures- which is a cobwebbing of scar tissue which blocks the intestine... Which do you think this is what it was?

have never had crohns or ibs - some gut problems with erythromycin and now with plaquenil (just started it and when i halved the dose no problems - will work up to full dose)-- stool tests from great smokies always showed a very dysbiotic gut but i figure i was very lucky not to have many symptoms - i had lots of stool tests before i was dx with babs/ lyme as i could always get an antbx order - always have done better on antbx. my dad had adhesions, the residual from a bust appendix in the 30's - he always had to have surgery to fix it.....i think this is what you're referring to with scar tissue, etc....also, very painful.....have alsonever had problems with candida (per stool tests - lucky, eh?)

What was the explanation the MP.com gave for the possibilitythat it could be the Benicar.

at first, everyone said i was just severely constipated - i responded that i'd been a visiting nurse for eons and knew a lot about constipation and this wasn't it!! it was a few days later that he noted benicar could cause this...no explanation at all...i never read all the papers that thouroghly - perhaps, it was mentionned...don't know if any others on the mp list had this problem with benicar..

Deb:

I know Lyme can cause some paralysis of peristalsis, and can cause

bloating and some pain, but you're description of continual pain and

vomiting sounds like a stricture or blockage...

(I know becuase I had ahdesions form an old operation loop a bowel,

and shut it off and I almost died from it- mis dx'd as hysterical

pregnancy no less - so I know the pain.)

But I cannot underdtand how an ARB could cause this.

Keep us posted if you get anymore info.
