Guest guest
Dr Blevins is right here in town- Austin, unless he has moved!! If so, I will not be travling to see him. Too many little ones to travel! Had my iodine radiation pill today, and they told me not to cuddle with my children around my neck, weird! She said she did not want them exposed to radiation...how sad! <kdevaun@a...> wrote:> They referred me to Dr Blevins. Heard of him? Ugh... Yeah... but... I'd not travel to Tennessee. I know Janie has been already talking about Dr. Petak re: Thyroid. Dr. Petak is also a PCOS specialist and a thyroid specialist (and he is in Texas).I went to see Blevins on a second opinion (pituitary). Oh, he is nice and all, and he is laid back and easy to talk to. I didn't like my doctor being several states away. I also feel with Dr. Petak, that he has a personal interest in how I am doing. Quite frankly, I felt Blevin's approach with me was more structured, more dogmatic (but that is from a pituitary approach/consult). I feel Petak is 'in it' for me.Blevins doesn't manage PCOS - I don't know if that would affect your care outcome if you were to travel to Tenn, but it might.Another friend of mine travels from Austin to see Dr. Petak (post adrenal tumor patient). He is really helping her.Another option is for your endo to refer you to Dr. Sherman (specifically) at MD, for just thyroid.Good luck!
