Guest guest
Deer hunting has arrived here in Wisconsin and my husband just shot one this morning. I have the liver and heart soaking. We normally eat the liver, but I have never done anything with the heart and I only see one recipee in the NT cookbook for this organ, it is mixed with other organ meats, mazalika. Can I just grind this up and add it slowly to hotdishes or what should I do with this heart? I am trying to convince my husband to bring in the brains, but he has a hard time with this! I also do not know what he did with the kidneys! I am assuming he left them out with the guttings. I'll have to let him know I want this next time for the next deer. We should get one more and maybe two. Are these sweetbreads only in calves? If not where would they be in the deer, I have no idea! I wish i could convince his dad to bring back the liver, etc from his huntings. He is in Montana right now hunting for elk, deer, etc. Grace, a Augustine I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you enough ''Hello's " to get you through the final goodbye. --anonymous
