Guest guest
Thanks for all of the replys. Now I have another question. How do you use coconut oil?? I have had a jar for some months but can never figure out what to do with it. Is there any way to take it without melting it down when cooking? > > > My daughter is going to begin treatment for yeast. > > I think the doc is > > > using Nizoral. Guest guest
Jelly: I toast some bread, and smear it on like butter. I usually then coat some fresh ground peanut butter over that. I buy it in a 10 lb bucket, and decant a few globs into a glass jar. It goes in the fridge when the weather gets warm enough to sar to turn it into a liquid oil (>78 deg F) .. I like it the consistancy of semi hard butter. Barb > > > > My daughter is going to begin treatment for yeast. > > > I think the doc is > > > > using Nizoral. Guest guest
I use coconut oil as a spread on my ricecakes( allergic to wheat) instead of butter. Tastes fine , especially with marmalade. A bit hard to spread when cold and difficult to manage when too hot. Regards Windsor [infections] Re: Treat Candida with Prescrip....Coconut Oil, how do you use it? Thanks for all of the replys. Guest guest
It's a great substitute for butter. I find it great on crackers or toast with other toppings. Lately I've been doing crackers/coconut oil/smoked salmon. Actually very tasty. Prefer the coconut oil to cream cheese with the salmon. Here in San Diego, it doesn't get that hot, so the coconut oil stays semi hard year round. It's about the consistency of room temp butter, just a little lighter. You can buy it at any health food store. I haven't seen 10 gallon tubs, but it comes in glass jars in the oil aisle. penny > Thanks for all of the replys. Now I have another question. Guest guest
I had my coconut oil on toast with Pnut butter this morning. I just used a tiny bit, but by the time I was done eating it was all over my fingers. Then I felt like I wanted to smear it all over myself and go get a tan. Other then the oiliness, I really didn't find it that bad. I eat Pnut butter toast all the time, I'll miss the butter but, I can easily make that change. I tasted it plain and it's pretty oily, I can't imagine putting it on crackers with salmon. It wasn't horrible just oily. I got my jar a Trader Joe's, maybe it isn't the best. What brand is your's Penny, maybe it will taste better? > > Thanks for all of the replys. Now I have another question. How do > > you use coconut oil?? Guest guest
Hmmm, the label came off my bottle, so can't recall. It was kind of a pale green/cream I think. I got it at Jimbos. It has a very mild, pleasant (but really almost non-existen) taste. I use northwest smoked salmon (not lox) which is pretty dry. Usually combine it with cream cheese for some moisture, but actually find the c. oil even better. I've put it under peanut butter or jam and couldnt' taste it at all. I don't normally use butter with p. butter though. penny > I had my coconut oil on toast with Pnut butter this morning. Guest guest
Mine is extra virgin coconut oil - solid at temps under 78 deg F. Looks like a block of white wax. It's got a real strong coconut taste. I buy from Tropical Traditions. http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/ Barb > > I had my coconut oil on toast with Pnut butter this morning. Guest guest
Yeah, I remember mine was also extra virgin and organic (if you can believe labels). It's also white, feels slightly crusty on the surface but very easy to spread. Not a strong flavor, just mildly sweet, which really surprised me, but not overpowering when put with something else, like the fish. penny > > > I had my coconut oil on toast with Pnut butter this morning.
